Auditions Announced for JUNIE B. IN JINGLE BELLS, BATMAN SMELLS at CenterStage Players

CSPOH_logoThe CenterStage Players, Inc. will hold auditions for JUNIE B. IN JINGLE BELLS, BATMAN SMELLS.

Saturday, August 22nd, 3-5 PM and Sunday, August 23rd, 1:30-3:30 PM

Casting young actors (grades K-5) and adults for this non-musical comedy. Youth roles may be double-cast. No monologue or headshot necessary.

Auditions

CenterStage Players will hold auditions for their December performance of JUNIE B. IN JINGLE BELLS, BATMAN SMELLS at their performance venue – The North College Hill City Center (1500 W. Galbraith Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231)

Auditions will take place on Saturday, August 22nd (3-5 PM) and Sunday, August 23rd (1:30-3:30 PM).

No appointment necessary.  Auditioners will be taken in the approximate order of arrival.

Auditioners will be asked to do cold readings from the script.

Rehearsal schedule will be determined based on availability of those cast and will be announced at a later date.  Rehearsals should begin in October.

Show dates are December 10th, 11th, 12th (2 shows) and 13th (2 shows), 2015.

Junie B. Jones, First-Grader, is super-excited about the upcoming Holiday Sing-Along and Secret Santa gift exchange at her school. Too bad tattletale May keeps ruining all of Junie B.’s fun. So when Junie B. draws May’s name for Secret Santa, she comes up with the perfect plan to teach her nemesis a lesson! But will the Christmas spirit of peace and goodwill interfere before she can give you-know-who what she deserves? A hilarious and endearing tale based on the best-selling book series by Barbara Park.

Auditions Announced for A CHRISTMAS STORY The Musical at La Comedia Dinner Theatre

LAC_logoLa Comedia Dinner Theatre in Springboro, Ohio will hold an open audition for their production of A CHRISTMAS STORY on Saturday August 15, 2015 at 765 W. Central Ave. Springboro.

9:00 am CHILDREN

  • RALPHIE PARKER: 10-13 year old boy. Needs to be a strong singer with an unchanged voice, also needs to act and move well.
  • RANDY PARKER: 8-11 year old boy. Needs to be a strong singer with an unchanged voice, also needs to act and move well.
  • SCUT FARCUS: 13-17 year old boy. The bully, every child in the town fears him. Needs to have a strong voice and presence on stage.
  • GROVER DILL: 13-17 year old boy. SCUT’S right hand man, just as mean as he is. Needs to have a strong presence on stage.
  • ENSEMBLE CHILDREN: 7-17 year old girls and boys will be used throughout the show and in production numbers.

10:30 am ADULTS

  • JEAN SHEPHERD/NARRATOR: 40-60. Strong actor with great presence and spark. He needs to be an animated story teller with a deadpan
    sense of humor.
  • THE OLD MAN: 30-50. Good heart, but a rough exterior, always expects the worst. High baritone/tenor range.
  • MOTHER: 30-50. More in charge than she lets on. Very much the “mom,” warm sense of humor.
    Mezzo soprano with a strong mix.
  • MISS SHIELDS: 20-40. The elementary school teacher. Needs to be a strong comedic actress. Comfortable with legit and strong Broadway style belt.
  • ENSEMBLE: 18-older, male and female strong singers/actors/dancers to fill multiple roles.
  • Be prepared to sing 16 bars of an up-tempo musical theatre song appropriate to the show.
  • Be prepared to show movement ability, a dance combination will be taught to you.
  • Bring sheet music in appropriate key, resume, and headshot.

Production dates: Nov. 4-Dec. 31
Rehearsals begin for Adults on Monday October 19, 2015. Children rehearsals to be determined.

[July 21, 2015, New York, NY] – Bo Burnham has announced a second leg to his extremely successful 2015 MAKE HAPPY TOUR.  Following on the heels of a sold-out spring tour, this leg will hit 31 cities and kicks off September 29th at Keswick Theatre in Philadelphia, PA. The tour will make a stop at Cincinnati’s Aronoff Center on Tuesday, November 10 at 8:00 PM.

Bo Burnham became the youngest person to ever record a half-hour Comedy Central special at the age of 18.  He has released two hour-long specials since then: Words, Words, Words in 2010 and what. in 2013.  The latter, what., was released on Netflix and YouTube simultaneously, and has since received over 8 million views on YouTube alone.  Bo recently created and starred in the MTV series Zach Stone is Gonna Be Famous and wrote a book of poetry, EGGHEAD, which became a New York Times Bestseller.

Bo’s live shows are a unique blend of stand-up, music, and theatre.

(Cincinnati, OH) Single tickets to Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati’s exciting 30th Anniversary 2015-2016 Season go on sale Monday, August 3 at 10 am. Subscriptions are still available and come in a variety of packages, including the recently added, popular Tuesday preview subscription option.

Highlights for the season include:

  • The Winner of the 2015 Harold & Mimi Steinberg/American Theatre Critics Association New Play Award, Luna Gale.
  • The regional premiere of the cheeky comedy, Buyer and Cellar welcomes the multi-talented Nick Cearley back to the ETC stage in this one-man performance.
  • The regional premieres of the two gripping character-driven dramas Grounded and Annapurna.

Performance Information
Performances run Tuesday through Sunday. Tuesday-Thursday, 7:30 pm; Friday and Saturday, 8:00 pm; Saturday and Sunday, 2:00 pm; and Sunday, 7:00 pm. Cinderella holiday schedule varies. A complete calendar of performances is available online at www.ensemblecincinnati.org.

Ticket Prices
Ticket prices range from $28 to $44 for adults; student tickets are $25; and children are $18. For the 2015-2016 season, ETC will also continue its popular $15 student and half-price rush tickets for all performances, which are available two hours prior to show time and may be purchased by phone or in person at the box office.
