Part Time Box Office Manager Needed at SCPA

The Friends of the School for Creative & Performing Arts is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Part-Time Box Office Manager.

This is a 9 month position (September-May), with flexible hours.

The Box Office Manager will report directly to the Executive Director of the Friends of SCPA and will be responsible for:

  • Daily management of the Box Office at the School for Creative & Performing
  • Arts in the weeks leading up to Mainstage Productions
  • Supervise, Train and Oversee Box Office staff
  • Set and maintain quality customer service standards

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous Box Office Experience
  • Experience working with various types of word processing and spreadsheet application
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Candidate must possess the ability to multi-task, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working in a very diverse and artistic environment
  • Experience and comfort working with online programs
  • Experience working with volunteers
  • Flexible Schedule, as this person would be required to be present for all weeknight and weekend performances a year, with the Box Office open for at least 90 minutes prior to the performance.

Weekend and Evening Performances are October 25th-29th, November 8th-11th, December 6th-9th, January 31st-February 2nd, March 20th-24th, April 18th-21st

Hourly salary commensurate with experience.

This is Sunset’s annual workshop children’s show to give anyone new to acting the opportunity to experience acting in front of live theater audiences.

It’s the late 1950s and teenagers from across the United States are going crazy for the handsome rock star, Conrad Birdie. But Conrad has received his draft notice and is about to be inducted into the army!! His manager, Albert Peterson, has staked his financial future on Conrad’s success. Albert’s secretary, Rosie, becomes fed-up with Albert’s lack of a marriage proposal and with his hilarious mother! Thus, as a final publicity stunt, Albert arranges for Conrad to kiss one lucky fan on the Ed Sullivan Show before he leaves for the army. Kim MacAfee, from Sweet Apple, Ohio, is the lucky girl. But conflict arises when her boyfriend, Hugo Peabody, gets jealous and Kim’s dad wants to be on the Ed Sullivan show… This Tony-award winning show includes hit songs such as The Telephone Hour, A Lot of Livin’ to Do and Put on a Happy Face. It is tops in imagination and frivolity; a show that will be enjoyed by all.
