Technical Director Position at Cincinnati Country Day School

Cincinnati Country Day School logoCincinnati Country Day School is seeking an experienced full-time Theatre Technical Director, preferably with teaching experience, for the 2015-16 school year. This position will involve full support of all school theatrical productions and events, as well as teaching a Tech Theatre class in design and application. An appropriate degree in the discipline is preferred.

Strong candidates will have a significant background as a TD for theatrical organizations, with the ability to integrate technology into their work and the classroom. Auditions Announced for ANNIE GET YOUR GUN by Encore Youth Theatre

EYT_logoEncore Youth Theatre in Butler County, Ohio is a non-profit organization dedicated to the arts and education of area youth. The summer show for 7th- through 12th-graders will be “Annie Get Your Gun,” performed July 23-25, 2015.

Auditions for “Annie Get Your Gun” are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thurs., May 14, 2015 and 10 a.m. Sat., May 16, 2015 at First Baptist Church, 1501 Pyramid Hill Blvd., Hamilton. Auditioners should prepare a 1-minute upbeat song to perform and dress comfortably to learn a dance.

The show will be directed by Chris Beiser and produced by Lynn Huff and Diane Noonan. Shows are performed at Parrish Auditorium on the Miami University Hamilton campus. Rehearsals take place four nights a week leading up to the show, plus other dates as needed. Get more information at www.encoreyouththeatre.net.

Additional Auditions Announced for CLYBOURNE PARK at Sunset Players

SSP_logoSunset Players will be having additional auditions for CLYBOURNE PARK on March 29th and April 1st. The auditions will start at 7:30 PM and will be held at the Arts Center at Dunham (1945 Dunham Way, 45238). The auditions will be cold readings from the script.

Winner of 2011 Pulitzer Prize and 2012 Tony Award, Clybourne Park, directed by Mike Burke, explores race, real estate and communication in two acts set 50 years apart.

Act One takes place in 1959 with nervous community leaders trying to stop the sale of a home to a black family. Act Two is set in the same house in the present day in a now predominantly African-American neighborhood battling to hold its ground in the face of gentrification.

Each cast member will play two roles, a character in Act 1 set in 1959 and a different character in Act 2 set in 2009.

Roles still available include:

  • White male: 40s to 50s
  • While female: 40s
  • Black female: 30s
  • Black male: 30s
  • White male: 30s
  • White male: 20s

Seasonal Shipping Department Help Needed at EdTA

EdTA_logoThe Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) is seeking an individual to help fill orders in our shipping department.

TERM
Seasonal, starting April 13 at 15 – 20 hours a week and increasing to 35 – 40 hours a week by late April to early June (with a possible extension into mid-June).

HOURS
Hours are flexible. Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to accurately select and count from more than 400 products
  • Able to pack up to 140 packages a day
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to work standing for several hours
  • Reliability and extreme attention to detail are essential.

WAGE
$9.50/hr.
