Open Call for CINCINNATI 48 HOUR FILM PROJECT

MISC_48 Hour Film Project logoOpen Call to All Cincinnati Actors!

We are 1106 Films and have a team participating in the Cincinnati 48 Hour Film Project www.48hourfilm.com
/cincinnati-oh

The project contest runs from June 24—26, 2016. Teams pull 1 of 30 genres, Comedy, Drama, Horror, etc. from a hat at 6:00 pm EDT Friday June 24 and must turn in a 7 minute film by 6:00 pm EDT Sunday June 26. We plan on all filming occurring Saturday June 25, 2016.

**Actors cannot be paid per contest rules**

  • The shoot will be catered and have water/pop, etc. all day
  • We are professionals and want to have a fun, productive experience

This project is highly visible with a screening before an audience of hundreds of local people, including local filmmakers

Many films end up on Youtube, etc.

There is a chance to win state, nationals, etc. which improves your visibility as an actor

We do not know what genre we will draw.

So we don’t know what the location is other than in the Cincinnati metropolitan area.

We currently don’t know what the role is but there will not be anything untoward such as nudity, excessive expletives, general weirdness (e.g., not a Tarantino movie).

You DO NOT need to be a professional actor, just have acting experience even if it is just schooling.

You MUST be available all day and evening Saturday June 25, 2016.

Even if you have availability and commit you MAY NOT BE SELECTED based upon the genre we draw (e.g., a coming of age movie with teens can’t have too many middle-aged people). You can still participate in other ways if you like.

DVDs of the finished 7 minute film are available upon request.

Theatrical Improv Class Begins May 18

CI_logoThe Coincidence Improv Academy will be offering a 7-week “Fundamentals of Improv” class next week. This is the first of four progressive levels of classes, from beginner to advanced. Our goal is to give students the skills and the opportunity to perform improvised theatre for an audience.

How is this different than other improv classes? The CIA focuses on a style of theatrical improv called “long form”: grounded in truthful scenework, complex and challenging like jazz, but ultimately very rewarding for the actor and captivating for an audience.

“Improv Fundamentals”
Weekly starting Wednesday May 18th at 7pm
Dramakinetics in Northside
Click here for more information and to register.

Hope to see you soon! We also have a free workshop on the Saturday, May 21st at 2pm. You can register at the web site.

Actors Needed for A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE at WIT-Women in Theatre

MISC_Casting call2WIT-Women in Theatre has two roles available for A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE which goes up on July 15 and runs 16, 22, 23 as Summer Dinner Theatre at The Avenue Stage in Bellevue, KY.  This is your invitation to join a talented and experienced cast of mature actors on a minimalist set in the present time.

The male role is The Collector which is a wonderful role for a young man who looks 18.  This is a role that looks great on any resume.  In WITs production, The Collector is shown as the ghost of Blanche’s dead husband.  This role might be filmed rather than played out on stage.

The female role is Eunice Hubbard, Stanley and Stella Kowalski’s upstairs landlord.  Eunice and her husband, Steve, are a volatile couple who represent where Stanley and Stella could be 15 years in the future.  She is Stella’s friend and confidant, someone Stella runs to easily and often.  The actress who plays Eunice should be able to play someone in her 40’s-50’s.

All inquiries should go to the Director, Donna Hoffman, Sumytra@fioptics.com
