Cincinnati Landmark Productions is seeking music directors for Showboat Majestic’s 2013 summer season
Music Director Requirements: Must be able to read, play and teach music well. Able to teach all vocals/music, conduct band for all performances. Able to transcribe musical compositions and melodic lines to adapt them to a particular group, or to create a particular musical style as needed. Must be able to work in a collaborative environment and attend and play the auditions and all rehearsals as scheduled.
Music Degree required. Three years of theatrical experience preferred. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Candidate must be able to work in an unsupervised environment. Must be a self starter, dependable, and have excellent communication skills. Good time management skills a must.

Their adventures along the way are hilarious, suspenseful and heartwarming, bringing to life your favorite characters from the novel-the Widow Douglas and her stern sister, Miss Watson; the uproarious King and Duke, who may or may not be as harmless as they seem; Huck’s partner in crime, Tom Sawyer, and their rowdy gang of pals; Huck’s drunken father, the sinister Pap Finn; the lovely Mary Jane Wilkes and her trusting family. Propelled by an award winning score from Roger Miller, the king of country music, this jaunty journey provides a brilliantly theatrical celebration of pure Americana. A joyous Showboat tradition returns! It’s all the fun of Majestic musical revue, featuring great songs from dozens of past shows, comic sketches, specialty dance numbers and a few surprises – in and out of the audience! Plus we’ll bring back the original salute to Porkopolis – the fabulous Queen City Toast – skewering all things Cincinnati, including politicians, athletes, local celebrities, glitterati and literati, living or not! It’s a float down Memory Lane when the Majestic brings back one of its absolute favorite kinds of shows- The Showboat Follies!
