The Wedding Singer: the Musical Comedy is the hilarious stage adaptation of the hit film starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. It tells the story of Robbie Hart; a semi-successful wedding singer who is left standing at the altar by his rocker girlfriend Linda. Luckily, he also meets Julia, a hopeless romantic who is waiting on her own proposal from her Wall Street mogul boyfriend Glen. All of this, set against the vibrant backdrop of 1980’s New Jersey! Will Robby recover from the heartbreak? Will Julia get the wedding of her dreams? Come see Queen City Productions’ presentation of The Wedding Singer and find out!

Auditions Announced for THE WEDDING SINGER at Queen City Productions

QCP_logoQueen City Productions will hold auditions for the musical comedy THE WEDDING SINGER.

THE WEDDING SINGER is the musical adaptation of the hit Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore film. It is a love-letter to all things in 80s pop culture. It tells the story of Robby, a wedding singer who gets left at the altar and then falls for Julia, a cater waitress who is engaged to Wall Street mogul, Glen. Featuring upbeat and high energy music you’d expect from a show about the 80s and a hilarious script, this is a blast from the past you want to be a part of!

Auditions will be held:

  • Monday, March 27th from 7-10pm
  • Tuesday, March 28th from 7-10pm

at The Arts Center at Dunham
(Invited callbacks will be Wednesday, March 29th at 7:00pm)

Auditionees should:

  • Prepare about 1 minute of a pop/contemporary Broadway song that shows your vocal ability as well as your personality
  • Be prepared to read from the script
  • e prepared to learn a short dance combination
  • Be at least 12 years of age

Johnny, Tunny and Will struggle to find meaning in a post-9/11 world. When they decide to flee the constraints of their hometown for the thrills of city life, their paths are quickly estranged when Tunny enters the armed forces, Will is called back home to attend to familial responsibilities, and Johnny’s attention becomes divided by a seductive love interest and a hazardous new friendship. Winner of two Tony Awards, AMERICAN IDIOT is a high-octane, energy-fueled rock opera, featuring every song from Green Day’s album, AMERICAN IDIOT, as well as several songs from its follow-up release, 21ST CENTURY BREAKDOWN. Adult language and situations, including drug use and wartime violence.

Auditions Announced for Green Day’s AMERICAN IDIOT at Queen City Productions

QCP_logoCome join Queen City Productions at their auditions for their spring production of Green Day’s AMERICAN IDIOT the musical.

It tells the story of three friends whose lives take them down drastically different paths. It’s a story about finding one’s self all set to the sounds of music by the incredibly popular, Green Day. There are many featured, supporting and ensemble roles with lots of stage time.

Auditions will be held Monday, December 12th from 7-10pm and Tuesday, December 13th from 7-10pm. Walk-ins will be seen in the first available time slot.

Auditionees should prepare:

  • a song in the style of the show (pop rock/punk) *no Green Day songs* that best showcases their vocal ability as well as their personality. Singing can be done a cappella or with a backing/accompaniment track
  • For a dance call. wear/bring clothes/shoes that you can move in
  • to read from the script and/or do an improv exercise

Rehearsals will tentatively be on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday evenings at The Arts Center at Dunham and will begin after January 1st.

Show dates are March 24th – April 2nd.
