Northern Kentucky Community Theater Announces Name Change

MTC_logoGreetings,

We are excited to announce that Northern Kentucky Community Theater is now Merit Theatre Company!

We decided to change our name for several reasons:

  1. We believe it will be easier to make this change while we are a smaller company, versus waiting until we have grown bigger.
  2. Though we intend to always be actively involved in our community and provide opportunities for involvement, we believe this new name allows for room to grow in years to come.
  3. Although we will remain a Northern Kentucky-based theatre, we want to continue working with and providing opportunities for talent from surrounding areas. We want our name to reflect this.
  4. Most importantly, our new name is a better reflection of who we are as a theatre company. The word merit means, in short, “worthiness or excellence.” We are committed to striving for excellence in everything we do, both on and off stage. “Merit” reminds us of that commitment.

Tickets for our summer show, HORIZONS OF GOLD, are on sale now! Tickets may be purchased online through SeatYourself or over the phone by calling our box office at (859) 795-1860.

Thanks so much for your support.

Happy Fourth of July!
