There has been a murder at Monkswell Manor just as the guests and staff find themselves stranded in a snowstorm. It soon becomes clear that the killer is among them, and the seven strangers grow increasingly suspicious of one another. A police detective interrogates the suspects but that doesn’t stop a second murder from taking place causing tensions and fears to escalate.

Auditions Announced for THE CEMETERY CLUB at Mason Community Players

MCP_logoMason Community Players is holding auditions for THE CEMETERY CLUB

  • Sunday, October 27th from 2:00 to 5:00 PM
  • Monday, October 28th, from 6:30 to 9:00 PM

At Mason Community Playhouse – 5529 Mason Road in Mason.

Auditions are open; there is no need to indicate which date/time that you will be attending.

The production will be directed by Ray Lebowski, produced by Tess Catlin, and stage managed by Dana Davis.

The story of THE CEMTERY CLUB cocerns three Jewish widows and long-time friends who meet once a month for tea, then visit their husbands’ graves. Things are going along swimmingly until the arrival of Sam, a shy butcher whose deceased wife is buried in the same cemetery as their husbands. The friendships become strained when a love triangle develops. A story seemingly about death, the show is in fact about relishing life, the loves, and the friendships along the way. THE CEMTERY CLUB will be performed February 21st, 22nd, 27th, 28th, and March 1st at 8:00pm and February 23rd at 2:00pm.

SCHOOLHOUSE to Rock Mason Community Players

Mason Community Players is going to rock the house … the “school” house … in its Fall production of SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE!

More than 40 performers, both cast and musicians, will bring back to life the familiar tunes that burst into homes across the nation from 1973 to 1985. Time to immerse yourself in grammar, math, science, and history in a unique and upbeat way. Revisit these childhood memories once again or come find out why Schoolhouse Rock was so popular and how it taught a generation that “learning is power.”

SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE! takeS the stage September 6, 7, 12, 13, and 14 at 7:30pm and September 8 at 2:00pm at the Mason Community Playhouse, 5529 Mason Rd, Mason, OH 45040.

The show is produced by Mary Stan Fizer, directed by Laureen Catlin, assistant directed by Deb Davidson, and stage managed by Dana Davis. Lara Gonzalez is the show’s music director.

A pop culture phenomenon comes to the musical stage in Schoolhouse Rock Live! The show is an homage to the Emmy Award-winning 1970s Saturday morning cartoon series that taught history, grammar, math and more through clever, tuneful songs. The show follows Tom, a nerve-wracked school teacher who is nervous about his first day of teaching. He tries to relax by watching TV, when various characters come to life to show him how to win his students over with imagination and music. Who can forget such songs as “Just a Bill,” “Lolly, Lolly, Lolly” and “Conjunction Junction.”
