TWELFTH NIGHT Runs May 5-21, 2023

The Loveland Stage Company is proud to present our modern take on the Shakespeare classic, Twelfth Night! The talented production team, cast and crew bring this story to life with a stunning set, songs and costumes that will totally transport audiences to Illyria in the 1980s!

This is a fast-paced romantic comedy with several interwoven plots involving romance, mistaken identities and practical jokes. Separated from her twin brother Sebastian in a shipwreck on Illyria, Viola disguises herself as a boy, calls herself Cesario, and becomes a faithful servant to the Duke Orsino. He sends her to woo the Countess Olivia on his behalf, but the Countess falls in love with Cesario instead. Meanwhile, Olivia’s uncle, Sir Toby Belch gets drunk with his friend, Sir Andrew Aguecheek and their merry band of fools plays a trick on Malvolio, Olivia’s steward. Eventually Sebastian turns up and causes even more confusion, chaos and comedy!

The cast includes veterans and newcomers to Loveland Stage Company. Featuring the talents of MICHAEL YARICK (FESTE/PRIEST), NICK DUNKER (DUKE ORSINO), ANNA HAZARD (VIOLA/CESARIO), KATHERINE ANDERSON (OLIVIA), JUSTIN HANKS (SEBASTIAN/CAPTAIN), JOE SIMMONS (MALVOLIO), KEN MACKE (SIR TOBY BELCH), PETTRINA BARRESI (MARIA/OFFICER), JOSEPH STANICHAR (SIR ANDREW AGUECHEEK), ANDREW THEADEMAN (ANTONIO), and EMILY TILLING (FABIA/VALENTINE).

Directed by Kiya Fix
Produced by Becky Jones & Micheal R. Kiser

Cast: Michael Yarick as Feste/Priest, Nick Dunker as Duke Orsino, Anna Hazard as Viola, Katherine Anderson as Olivia, Justin Hanks as Sebastian/Captain, Joe Simmons as Malvolio, Ken Macke as Sir Toby Belch, Pettrina Barresi as Maria/Officer, Jospeh Stanichar as Sir Andrew Aguecheek, Andrew Theademan as Antonio & Emily Tilling as Fabian/Valentine

Shipwrecked on the shores of the kingdom of Illyria, Viola believes herself alone in the world and her twin brother drowned. She disguises herself as a man and enters the service of Duke Orsino. Duke Orsino is in love with the Countess Olivia, who in turn falls in love with Viola, thinking she is a man. What ensues is a series of mistaken identities and miscommunications. Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night explores themes of love, gender and societal hierarchy. Many scholars and critics believe it is one of the most structurally perfect comedies of all Shakespeare’s works.
