EARTH AND SKY Perfomances Cancelled at Mariemont Players

MPI_logo 2020Dear MPI Patrons,

It is with great sadness that we must cancel our March production of EARTH AND SKY. As you know, we are facing a health crisis due to the COVID-19 illness. As a result, Governor DeWine has issued a rule prohibiting gatherings of more than 100 people, which applies to Mariemont Players.

We know this is a disappointing decision for many of you, just as it is for us. Our cast and production crew have worked tirelessly on EARTH AND SKY, and they were very excited to bring you this wonderful production. But nothing is more important to us than the safety and health of our patrons, and, as difficult as it is, this is the right decision to make.

In addition, we are offering a full refund for anyone who has purchased tickets for EARTH AND SKY. Please contact the box office at 513.684.1236, or email us at waltoncreektheater@gmail.com, if you would like a refund.

We will continue to monitor the situation, and we fully intend to be back onstage as soon as our public health officials declare it is safe to do so. Keep an eye on mariemontplayers.com, as well as our Facebook page, for updates.

Thank you for your continued and valued support of Mariemont Players. We look forward to seeing you at the theater as soon as possible.

Regards,
Patrick Kramer
President, MPI Board of Directors

Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati Temporarily Suspends Performances Due to Coronavirus

ETC_new_logo_banner(Cincinnati, OH) Amid the increasing public health threat of coronavirus, identified as COVID-19, Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati (ETC) is temporarily suspending all performances, events, and community programs, effective immediately. Although no confirmed cases of the virus have yet been identified in Hamilton County, Ohio as of this announcement, this decision comes as a response to mounting national concern regarding the outbreak.

ETC’s highest priority is to safeguard the well-being of its patrons, performers, volunteers, and staff and to support local officials, public health authorities, and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in minimizing the virus’s impact as much as possible.

The theatre is working to identify dates to reschedule its shows and ticket holders for upcoming performances will be contacted. Additionally, ETC will be relaxing its exchange policies and waive all fees to find suitable solutions for its patrons.

“While it pains our organization tremendously to put space between live theatre and its audiences, after hours of conversations internally, with our board, and with local leaders, we feel that this step is necessary and in the best interest of our community,” explains Producing Artistic Director D. Lynn Meyers. “Our thoughts right now are with the individuals and families who have been affected. Thank you for your understanding and assistance during this time, and we encourage everyone to support one another during this time of national uneasiness.”

In the interim, ETC encourages continuing standard precautions, including frequent hand washing, avoiding touching eyes, nose, and mouth, as well avoiding close contact with people who are sick and anyone feeling ill to remain home as much as possible.

Behind the Curtain’s Statement on COVID-19

MISC_CoronavirusAs early as this afternoon, we should hear government ordered limitations on how many people can gather in one place for the next several months.

Obviously this could negatively impact many current and upcoming theater productions.

Publicists please be sure to email information directly to me if you have to announce any changes or cancellations.

I will be collecting the information and updating my site accordingly.

As devastating as cancellations are to the theater community, an outbreak within the members of our tight-knit family would be even more heartbreaking.

Stay safe everyone.
