PRIDE AND PREJUDICE and HAMLET Cancelled at Cincinnati Shakespeare Company

CSC_logoIt is with a heavy heart, that we announce the remaining performances of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE and the upcoming performances of HAMLET have now been cancelled in response to the order released by Ohio Governor Mike DeWine limiting public gatherings and the public health crisis.

We are a community of artists, collaborating on projects onstage and off. As a supporter of Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, you are such an important part of our family. As you can imagine, we are devastated to close our doors for the time being. We know that for so many, attending a performance is a chance to escape and the power of live theatre creates a common bond desperately needed in these uncertain times. While nothing can replace these in-person connections, we hope that you take comfort in the fact that we are working tirelessly to create new ways to connect with you as we all move forward together.

More than ever before, Cincinnati Shakespeare Company needs your support. Please consider making a donation to protect our ability to create powerful and engaging theatre long after this period of uncertainty. While our performances, workshops, classes, and events cannot go on, the lives and livelihoods of those who make the art you love must. Your philanthropic support ensures that when this crisis ends – and it will – Cincinnati Shakespeare Company will still be right here waiting for you with open arms, ready to hold up a mirror to reflect all the best parts of our shared humanity.

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company appreciates your continued support and understanding as we make decisions in the best interest of our community. We look forward to seeing you back at the Otto soon. Please be well and thank you for sharing in our mission to bring Shakespeare and the Classics to life for all.

MAMMA MIA! Postponed at Wright State University

WSUDear Wright State Theatre, Dance and Motion Pictures Patrons, Students, Faculty and Staff,

It is my disappointing duty to announce that we will postpone our production of MAMMA MIA until the Fall, where it will become part of our 2020-21 season.

As so many other public organizations have had to make similar decisions, it is the only responsible action. We care deeply about the health and well-being of our students, faculty and staff, and patrons. And, we are fully committed to helping all of you get through this public health emergency. Come Fall, we will look forward to having you with us to celebrate our collective health.

Our box office staff will work with ticket holders to arrange refunds, or allow you to convert your ticket to a donation.

Thank you for your continued support over these many years! Now, go wash your hands!

With my best regards for your health and safety,

Joe Deer, Chair

All Activities Suspended After Friday’s Performance of STUART LITTLE at Town Hall Theatre

THT_logoIn response to the elevated concern regarding the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and consistent with recommendations from state health authorities to limit large gatherings and practice social distancing, Washington Township has made the decision to temporarily close the Recreation Center campus, including Town Hall Theatre, effective today, March 13 at 9:00PM for at least 3 weeks.

Tonight’s performance of STUART LITTLE will go on as planned. The remaining shows will be cancelled and we will be giving refunds. If you have purchased a ticket for an upcoming performance and would like to transfer your ticket to tonight’s show, we can also do that. Rehearsals for Mary Poppins Jr. and Fairy Tale Misfits are both postponed during this time.

Our first priority is the health and well-being of our community. This was a difficult decision to make and as a full partner with our local health agencies and the State of Ohio, we recognize that community mitigation strategies are crucial to slowing the transmission of the virus in Ohio. This situation continues to change at a rapid pace so stay informed at www.phdmc.org/coronavirus-updates. We appreciate you all and thank you for your support.

THE AGITATORS Postponed at Falcon Theatre

FT_logoCOVID-19 Update:

It is with great disappointment that Falcon has decided to reschedule our production of THE AGITATORS in response to the COVID-19 crisis. The health and well-being of our patrons, artists, staff and volunteers is of utmost importance to us and we believe that this is the most prudent course of action at this time.

We are currently discussing possible dates for rescheduling THE AGITATORS and will post those as soon as possible. We will also be contacting everyone who has already purchased tickets with detailed instructions and options for refunds, exchanges, etc. Please be patient with us while we work with our ticket vendor to finalize those details.

At this point, we are moving forward with all plans for our production of Silent Sky in May as scheduled. We will, of course, continue to monitor this quickly changing situation and will communicate any changes to that production if they need to happen.

We encourage everyone to follow the CDC’s recommendations on basic health and safety practices including frequent hand washing, etc. Details on those guidelines can be found here: CDC Link

Thank you to all our patrons and artists for supporting us through this challenging time.

Sincerely,
Ted Weil
Producing Artistic Director
