CPI is Looking for Volunteers for Staged Reading

CPI_logoCincinnati Playwrights Initiative (CPI) is looking for volunteer actors for a staged reading of a new play at the Fifth-Third Bank Theater (Aronoff center).

TITLE: A PAIN IN THE NECK

PLAYWRIGHT: Jack Lindy M.D.

DIRECTOR: Lynne Aronson

BRIEF SYNOPSIS:
Dr. Maurice Schnellenkopfer, author of the poorly selling book “Better Bedside Manners,” is now a surgical patient with cancer.

He enters a farcical hospital world where the only thing left to do is laugh . . .

SHOW DATE: Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at 7:30

THEATER: Fifth-Third Bank Theater (Black Box).

FEMALE CHARACTER needed:
MRS. ASHES – able to play around 40-45, have a soft Irish accent, be full of herself with a go-get-em attitude and extremely proud of the job she does to bring hospitals around and into the black.

MALE CHARACTERS needed:
RESIDENTS 1- Young man who is now working in a hospital at the feet of a great surgeon, he is, however, pretty puffed up with his title of MD and a great deal of self-importance.

INFORMATION:
We will not have a formal audition, but interested actors should send/attach their Acting Résumé and provide their headshot (JPG).

CPI Seeks Actors for THE G.I. BILL

CPI_logoWould you be interested in reading (a cold reading) at French Hall – West on UC Campus (All actors are volunteers).

On Sunday, January 26, 2014 7 PM
You need to be on location at 6 PM.

We are an official Resident Company at the Aronoff Center.

No rehearsals, but the actor is asked to read the script ahead of time and be prepared to impress. It is a public event in front of audience.

Title: “The G.I. Bill”

The GI Bill of Rights signaled the shift to the knowledge society.

Future historians may well consider it the most important event of the twentieth century.

The G. I. Bill play tells the story of six military veterans of World War II when they experience life as students at a small southern college.
