CLP Seeks Actor for Harry Beaton in BRIGADOON

CCPAUpdate: The role has been filled.

Cincinnati Landmark Productions is seeking one male to play the role of Harry Beaton in BRIGADOON.

Harry Beaton – Age range: 18 – 30.  Son of Archie, in love with Jean.  About 24, slender and sensitive-looking. (Singer/Dancer).

MUST HAVE A RESUME listing theatrical experience in order to audition. A headshot/picture is appreciated but not required.  Please prepare 16 bars of a song that best showcases vocal ability.

Please note:  No more than two conflicts will be accepted during the rehearsal process for this production.

A beautiful musical about a Scottish town that disappears into the Highland mist and returns for only one day every hundred years. Songs include:  Waitin’ for My Dearie, I’ll Go Home with Bonnie Jean, Come to Me, Bend to Me, Almost Like Being in Love, There But for You Go I, The Heather on the Hill and My Mother’s Weddin’ Day. This is a tribute to simplicity, goodness and the power of true love.

CLP Seeking Babies for BABY at Warsaw Federal Incline Theater

CLP_BabiesCincinnati Landmark Productions is seeking three new born babies (to be born at the end of April, 2016) for our production of BABY. The time commitment will be minimal (you won’t have to do every date), there’s a small nightly stipend, two free tickets and your sweet bundle of joy on stage too!

For two days we see into the lives of four desperate Chicago real estate agents as they lie, bribe, betray, flatter, intimidate and even burglarize their way to elusive, illusory success. As they do anything to “win” – selling worthless real estate to unwitting prospective buyers – the men hustle others and fool themselves into thinking that they have what it takes to make an “honest” living.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Must be 13 – 19 years of age at the time of the audition
  2. All auditionees MUST MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO AUDITION by:
    Emailing Jennifer Perrino at jenniferperrino@covedalecenter.com OR call the box office at 513 241 6550 – Monday – Saturday, 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. 

Please note:  You must provide your age, a good phone number and an email address when setting up your audition.

You may request a specific time slot as listed in #3 below:

  1. Audition times include:

Saturday, April 30th @ 10:00, 11:00 am, 1:00 and 2:00 pm
Sunday, May 1st   @ 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00 pm
Tuesday, May 3rd @ 5:00 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00 pm

  1. It is important you arrive 15-20 minutes BEFORE your scheduled audition time to fill out paperwork.
  2. Please prepare a song from a musical theater show that best represents your singing voice (please bring sheet music for our accompanist).  Please note: Do not expect to sing a cappella or with pre-recorded music.
  3. Dress appropriately as you will be required to complete a dance audition.
  4. You will be asked to read from the script as well.

All auditionees must complete all three parts of the audition process (singing, reading script, dancing).  If all areas are not completed, then he/she will not be considered for a role in the show.

Participation Fee:  All participants (on stage and off) are required to pay a participation fee for this summer program.  Fee will be due at the first rehearsal: $150.00 for performers (includes costume and show t-shirt); $50.00 for Techies (includes show t-shirt).

Attention Techies:  Interviews will be set up for those interested in working tech for this production.  Set up your audition by calling the box office at 513.241.6550 Monday – Saturday, 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Or email Jennifer Perrino, Producer atjennifeperrino@covedalecenter.com  to request a particular time slot.

Interviews slots include:

  • Saturday, April 30th @ 1:00 and 2:00 pm

Please Note:  A limited amount of funds are in place to assist with the participation fee. Funds are distributed on a confidential basis.  Everyone is encouraged to audition, regardless of ability to pay!  Choosing the cast of the show is based upon talent, enthusiasm and availability only. Ability to pay the participation fee is never a factor in casting decisions.

The Show Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is transported to modern-day New York City, as two young idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the “American” Jets and the Puerto Rican Sharks. Their struggle to survive in a world of hate, violence and prejudice is one of the most innovative, heart-wrenching and relevant musical dramas of our time.

What is CYPT?  Cincinnati Young People’s Theatre (CYPT) provides a summer of great experience for performers and techies alike. Many of our members are now professional actors, singers, dancers, technicians and musicians.  Others are Drama, Opera, Music Theatre, Voice, Music and Broadcasting majors at colleges all over the country.  To date, over 2,200 teens have been a part of CYPT!
CYPT has produced 33 years of exciting shows, including: Jesus Christ Superstar, Footloose, 42nd Street, Children of Eden, Hello Dolly, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Anything Goes, The Pajama Game, Godspell,  Les Miserables, Crazy For You, The Wedding Singer, Grease, Footloose, Hairspray and many more!

CYPT is the recipient of the Post-Corbett Award for Outstanding Arts Organization, plus, the National Recreation and Parks Arts and Humanities Award, and the Ohio State Award for Best Student Program.

CYPT brings together 100 teens each summer, on stage and off.  In 2015, participants came from 38 different schools, from all over the Southwest Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Southeast Indiana region.

CYPT is for you!  The teenage performer/techie interested in three things: 1) Theatrical Experience; 2) A Summer project with a difference; 3) A lot of new friends with the same interests.
