Alton Brown Live! The Edible Inevitable Tour
Saturday, November 1, 2014 • 8:00 PM
Aronoff CenterProcter & Gamble Hall

With his upcoming tour, Alton Brown brings his brand of quirky humor and culinary-science antics to the stage.  The two-hour show is a unique blend of stand up comedy, food experimentation, talk show antics, multimedia lecture, and, for the first time…live music.  Audience interaction is strictly enforced throughout the evening, though if you’re called upon as a culinary assistant you’ll definitely want to take the lab coat Brown offers, as things tend to get messy.  Brown has worked his weird magic on live audiences across the nation for over a decade, but this is the first time he’s actually hit the road with a live tour.  The entire family will have a blast, especially as you sing along with Brown’s soon to be hits “Airport Shrimp Blues” and “TV Cookin Ain’t Like No Other Cookin.”  www.altonbrowntour.com

Halloween Ghost Tours of Music Hall | Friday, October 31

Halloween Tours of Cincinnati Music Hall

Rare opportunity to experience Music Hall – on Halloween night!

CAA_HAlloween ToursCINCINNATI, OH – Music  Hall, one of Cincinnati’s most iconic buildings and a National Historic Landmark, is also widely considered to be one of the City’s most active paranormal sites. Many of the stories about unusual happenings have deep historic roots, beginning in the Cincinnati of the 1800s and often centered on the graveyards formerly located on and nearby the venue’s footprint.

This year presents a rare opportunity to tour Music Hall after hours on All Hallows’ Eve – Halloween night. Four hour-long tours have been scheduled for 7:00 PM, 8:30 PM, 10:00 PM, and 11:30 PM for those who are fascinated by the history and paranormal potential of this unique venue. Each tour is limited to 40 people. Costumes are optional (costumes should allow freedom of mobility on an extensive walking tour that includes stairs and tight spaces), and there will be free Halloween candy for tour-goers.

Tickets are $20 and are available at www.CincinnatiArts.org, (513) 621-ARTS [2787], and the Music Hall or Aronoff Center Ticket Offices.  Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The tours are hosted and led by Cincinnati Research & Paranormal Studies (CRPS), a local group dedicated to investigating, documenting, and researching paranormal activities. CRPS will have “ghost hunting” equipment on display, and their team will be on hand in the foyer to explain how it works. They will also have a station where people can listen to EVPs (electronic voice phenomenon) that they have captured during their investigations of Music Hall.

The first Music Hall “ghost tour” was offered on Halloween night 2010, and proved to be so popular that the tours have since become sold-out monthly events. Tour guides showcase the history and evolution of Music Hall; lead participants through the auditorium, ballroom, backstage, and other areas; and share stories about the various supernatural and odd experiences of visitors and staff, past and present. The only after-hours tours offered within Music Hall itself, these special events showcase a darker side of the iconic venue not often seen by patrons attending performances. Participants are welcome to bring their own “ghost hunting” equipment, although none is required.

Those planning to take the tour (or simply wishing they could) may wish to consider watching the Syfy channel’s popular series Ghost Hunters on Wednesday, October 29 at 9:00 PM – Music Hall will be the featured destination of this special Halloween episode!

CANCELLED – Jim Jefferies show scheduled for TONIGHT, Thu., September 11 at Music Hall Ballroom

Comedian Jim Jefferies Performance
Tonight, Thursday, September 11, 2014, 8:00 PM at Music Hall Ballroom

**CANCELLED**

CAA_Jim JefferiesCINCINNATI, OH –  The Jim Jefferies performance, scheduled for TONIGHT, Thursday, September 11 in the Music Hall Ballroom, has been canceled.   Mr. Jefferies has a scheduling conflict with a movie role that he is currently filming.  All ticket purchases have been refunded in full to the original purchaser.  It is not necessary for customers to return their tickets.

Jefferies is the creator and star of Legit, an edgy, controversial original comedy series which returns to FXX for a second season on January 8.  In Legit, Jefferies portrays a heightened version of himself as a comedian from Australia who realizes there’s more to life (and his career) than the rock-and-roll lifestyle of stand-up comedy.  Prior to Legit, Jefferies has appeared on numerous TV shows in England including Channel 4’s The History of Offensive Humor, BBC1’s Heaven and Earth, and ITV2’s Comedy Cults. U.S. audiences got their first taste of Jefferies when he appeared on HBO’s Down and Dirty with Jim Norton, which in turn lead to his critically-acclaimed and international hit one-hour HBO special, I Swear to God.  He followed that up with a Showtime special titled Alchoholocaust and Fully Functional on The EPIX Network.
