Auditions Announced for TUCK EVERLASTING The Musical at Bart’s Bards

Bart’s Bards is proud to announce auditions for our 2025 production, Tuck Everlasting: The Musical, directed by Maddy Weinkam! Based on the novel by Natalie Babbitt, this warm-hearted show with a nostalgic feel and thoughtful story asks audiences to consider the true meaning of life. Ages 6 and up invited to audition.

AUDITION DATES:

  • Saturday, February 8 from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm at JPII School (9375 Winton Rd, 45231)
  • Tuesday, February 11 from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm at St. Bartholomew Church’s Krumpe Activity Center (9375 Winton Rd, 45231)

HOW TO SIGN UP:

  1. Select an audition slot on Signup genius
  2. Fill out the Audition form. Paper forms will be available at auditions, but we prefer you fill out this online form to keep auditions moving.

PREPARATION:

  • 16-32 measures of a theatre song. Bring your own accompaniment (a speaker will be available at auditions). A cappella auditions will not be accepted.
  • You may be asked to do some vocalizing, read from the script, and/or answer questions about your theatre experience.
  • If interested in auditioning as a featured dancer or for the roles of Winnie Foster, Jesse Tuck, Mae Tuck, or Angus Tuck, please review and prepare this short dance segment to be performed with a group of auditioners on audition day.

ENSEMBLE FOR PAST MEMBERS:

If you have participated in a Bart’s Bards activity within the last five years and you would like to be in the ensemble, you do not have to audition. Simply email BartsBardsTuck@gmail.com.

Call for Directors for 2025 Summer Musical at Bart’s Bards

Bart’s Bards—a theatrical ministry of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church—is holding an open Call for Directors for our Summer 2025 musical. Interested persons should contact Danielle Meineke (BartsBards@gmail.com) to schedule a 45-minute evening appointment time on Sunday, September 29, Monday, September 30, or Wednesday, October 2 at St. Bartholomew Church (9375 Winton Rd).

Performance Dates are as follows:

  • Thursday, June 5—Evening
  • Friday, June 6—Evening
  • Saturday, June 7—Matinee & Evening
  • Sunday, June 8—Matinee

The show will be performed on the Ray Sowell Commemorative Stage in the Fr. William F. Krumpe Activity Center in Springfield Township, OH (9375 Winton Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45231).

Potential directors may pitch up to two shows. We will hear your pitch(es), talk about our theater community, and hear from you about your practices and expectations as a director. Please also bring your theatrical resumé and contact information.

The show selected will: 1) be a large-cast musical production for members of all ages, including the potential for a large number of children; 2) have several lead-role opportunities for actors of all ages; and 3) be a family-friendly production that presents a message consistent with the values of the Catholic Church. To aid potential directors with show selection, below are some of our recent productions. We are open to hearing pitches of repeat shows or shows new to our theater.

Virtual Auditions Announced for CaBARTret at Bart’s Bards

We’re Back!

After a year off, we are very excited to announce auditions for our 4th Annual CaBARTret! Directed by Maddy Weinkam & Jeff Weinkam. The show will be ONE NIGHT ONLY on November 9th and rehearsals will be minimal. The show will be comprised of solos/small group songs and 3 large group numbers. You must be at least 18 years old and out of high school to participate.

The theme for this year is “Page to Stage” meaning we will be doing selections of songs from shows based on books

There will be no in person auditions this year. ALL auditions will be virtual!

Video auditions must be received by September 8th at 5:00pm. Please send videos to BartsBards@gmail.com

What we need for your audition:

  • 16-32 bars of a musical theatre song you would like to perform in the show that fits the theme (you may be asked to sing something different for the show if the directors so choose)
  • A brief (1 minute or less) explanation of why you want to be a part of this year’s CaBARTret

Note: if you have participated in a Bart’s Bards show within the last 5 years and wish to ONLY be in the large group numbers, you do not need to audition. Just send us an email by September 8th letting us know you would like to be in the group numbers!

Together, they grieve a lost family and search for home and healing in the midst of unrelenting hardships. Could John Bollen, the generous wheat farmer down the road, be a savior for them both? A powerful journey of the heart unfolds for three people who find their lives intertwined, each desperate to heal the past and embrace a new future.  Lush, full-bodied orchestrations and soaring melodies take us back to the sweeping wheat fields of America’s Great Plains. With its cast of vibrant characters, this thoughtful script is packed with heart-rending drama, laugh-out-loud humor, and gentle romance.
