INNOVAtheatre
Sept. 23-26
Sorg Opera House [Middletown]

Directed & choreographed by Aaron Washington
Musical direction by Sarah Plaugher

TUCK EVERLASTING is based on the novel of the same name by Natalie Babbitt. It tells the story of a family who drink water from a magical spring and become immortal. When they encounter a young girl who lives in their rural New England town, she becomes friends with one of the sons, who soon offers her the secret to everlasting life. She then has to decide if she wants to join her new friends in immortality, or if she will live out her normal life. Tuck Everlasting premiered in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2015 and began playing on Broadway in 2016. It received positive reviews, especially praising the “dazzling ballet” in the second act. A timeless story of family, loss, friendship, and love, TUCK EVERLASTING is sure to become a classic favorite.

KAPLAN NEW WORKS IN THE PARK Runs Sept. 23-26

CB_Kaplan New Works 2021KAPLAN NEW WORKS IN THE PARK
Cincinnati Ballet
Sept. 23-26
Seasongood Pavilion [Eden Park]

Choreography by Jennifer Archibald

Via David Lyman: Sad news from Cincinnati Ballet. They have cancelled all performances of the Kaplan New Works in the Park series. The reason? “Anticipated inclement weather and low temperatures.” The performances will NOT be rescheduled. “Ballet management made the decision out of an abundance of caution for the health and safety of the performers.”

We open with The Kaplan New Works Series with a new twist — outdoors at Seasongood Pavilion in Eden Park. Kaplan New Works in the Park will be a ‘breath of fresh air,’ featuring groundbreaking choreography in a welcoming community space. This ambitious program will include world premieres from DANCEFIX phenom Heather Britt and three company dancers, Melissa Gelfin De-Poli, Daniel Baldwin, and Taylor Carrasco, as well as the return of Resident Choreographer Jennifer Archibald’s Sit. Thanks to strong sponsorship, this program will be free to the community, but guests are encouraged contribute what they wish.
