THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES Runs Sept. 22-24

LP_The Vagina Monologues logoTHE VAGINA MONOLOGUES
Lumos Players
Sept. 22-24
Lakeview United Methodist Church [Maineville]

Directed by Corey McOsker-Nieman
Produced by Amy Haake

Cast: Jennifer Martin, Jess Link, McKenzie Kugler, Ashley Herbert, Nicole Forbus & Laurie Barber

THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES was written in 1996 by Eve Ensler and is meant to begin conversations about women’s sexuality, sexual violence and the stigmas around them.

However, this idea of the female experience being tied exclusively to people with a vagina is clearly dated, but we hope to use this piece to begin important conversations about gender, reproductive rights, transphobia and voter rights in our own community.

Please join us for this moving production and a continued conversation with the staff and cast following the performance.

About the Author:
Michael Defrancesco grew up in Cincinnati and attended a Catholic seminary. Having had a keen interest in theater and after attending a summer drama program at UC, he sought and was awarded a Rockefeller grant to the University of Cincinnati’s Theater Arts program, where he earned an M.A. in Theater Arts. He became more interested in writing than acting, and engaged in that off and on over a number of years. In the past dozen years, he has written four plays: three full length and two as one-acts. CHILDREN OF THE CORN MAZE: IN SEARCH OF THE GREENVILLE GHOST
Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park
Oct. 7-30
Burger Farm and Garden Center [Newtown]

The fields of Burger Farm and Garden Center still have many spooky tales to tell in this follow-up to 2020’s Children of the Corn Maze. Teenagers keep disappearing after dark, leaving hardly any evidence in their wake. Could it be the Greenville Ghost, a monstrous menace of local lore? The Greenville City Council isn’t taking the matter seriously, so it’s up to us to form a search party! With touches of humor and mind-boggling twists, this real-time mystery unfolds as participants explore the farm’s spooky fields, on the hunt for clues.

This all-new, immersive experience promises chilling stories and festive frights aplenty! These outdoor corn maze performances coincide with Burger Farm’s annual Fall Fun Festival and take place on Friday and Saturday nights across four weekends in October. In addition to the interactive experience in the corn maze, guests can enjoy a hot drink station, a bonfire pit and hay bales. Ages 12 and up.
