Male Actor Needed for TDW’s MOON OVER BUFFALO
The Drama Workshop is currently looking for male actors to fill the role of Richard in their upcoming production of MOON OVER BUFFALO, directed by Adam Drake. Production dates are September 30-October 8, 2011 at Westwood Town Hall and the rehearsal process is set to begin next week. Auditions will be this Thursday, August 11 at Mercy Franciscan Hospital at 3131 Queen City Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45238 in Fitness Center Room B from 7pm-8:30pm. Actors should be prepared to read from the script and bring a resume and headshot (if available).
Synopsis of the play is as follows:
Charlotte and George Hay, an acting couple not exactly the Lunts are on tour in Buffalo in 1953 with a repertory consisting of CYRANO DE BERGERAC “revised, one nostril version” and Noel Coward’s PRIVATE LIVES.
This backstage farce by the author of LEND ME A TENOR
<http://www.thedramaworkshop.org/season/2009_2010/lend_tenor.html>
brought Carol Burnett back to Broadway co-starring with Philip Bosco as her megalomaniac, drunken husband and leading man. Fate has given these thespians one more shot at starring roles in The Scarlet Pimpernel epic and director Frank Capra himself is en route to Buffalo to catch their matinee performance. Will Charlotte appear or run off with their lawyer? Will George be sober enough to emote? Will Capra see Cyrano, Private Lives or a disturbing mixture of the two? Hilarious misunderstandings pile on madcap misadventures, in this valentine to Theatre Hams everywhere.
Character breakdown of Richard:
Richard: (50’s) He is George and Charlotte’s attorney, but he is in love with Charlotte–always trying to get her to leave George. He is wealthy and used to getting what he wants, and he is both amused and perplexed by the Hay family.
