Sara Mackie’s Cabaret is CHEAPER THAN THERAPY on Feb. 19

An Intimate Musical Stroll Through One Actor/Singer’s Head

TC_Cheaper Than Therapy

Sara Mackie (AEA, SAG/AFTRA) Is a Cincinnati based performer who joyfully used to interrupt Algebra II class when she would randomly burst into song.  You see, there is a song for every occasion. You would have seen her most often on the boards at Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati, and most recently she has appeared at The Human Race Theatre Co. and Cincinnati Shakespeare Co. It is her lifelong dream to gather strangers in a room to sing songs and tell stories related to her most intimate and/or embarrassing experiences. Ms. Mackie has yet to use a single thing she may have learned in Algebra II.

Matthew Umphreys is a Cincinnati-based pianist who is equally at home in opera, chamber music, jazz and musical theater. Matthew works as a coach, pianist and music director for Cincinnati Opera, The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati, and the Schmidt Vocal Institute. In 2018 Matthew co-founded Queen City Cabaret, a new jazz and theatrical cabaret concert series celebrating the rich past, present and future of the Cincinnati music scene.
