Mason High School Theater Presents the Musical MAMMA MIA!

MHS_Mamma MiaOn April 18, 19, 20, & 21, Mason High School Performing Arts will present the musical Mamma Mia! Show time is 7 pm on the 18, 19, and 20th, and 2pm on April 21.  We also invite senior citizens to attend our final dress rehearsal on April 17 @ 7pm free of charge.

The story-telling magic of ABBA’s timeless songs propels this enchanting tale of love, laughter and friendship, creating an unforgettable show. A large cast, non-stop laughs and explosive dance numbers combine to make Mamma Mia! a guaranteed smash hit for any theater. Over 60 million people worldwide have fallen in love with the characters, the story and the music that make Mamma Mia! the ultimate feel-good show!  It includes such memorable songs as “Dancing Queen,”  “Mamma Mia,” and “Take a Chance on Me.”  Mamma Mia! is rated PG for mild adult situations and language.  It is suitable for most audience members.

General Admission Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students, children, and seniors.  Reserved patron seats are also available for $15.  All senior citizens are invited to attend the final dress rehearsal on April 17 at 7 pm free of charge. NEWSIES at Cincinnati Christian Schools on March 7-9

Anderson Orchestra joins Anderson and Turpin Film to present Film event in March!

See Turpin junior Mary Harpring as Sara, Anderson junior Adam Miller as Ethan, and Anderson sophomore Sydney Ventura as Tori in HEAD CASE, a film produced by Anderson and Turpin Film.

Once again the award-winning (2024 National Student Emmy!) Anderson Film department presents an original motion picture, entirely produced by Anderson and Turpin students. Head Case is written and directed by Anderson HS senior Chrisanthi Burch and scored by Turpin HS junior Joshua Yamaguchi. It tells the story of employees of a run down movie theater who have to decide what to do with a mysterious briefcase. Exploring various ways mental health challenges and is handled by the current generation, Head Case turns the lens of the camera on those of us who struggle with our own mental health and how we help or hinder those around us. This film is best suited to children in grades 7 and above.

Each evening of film will feature live music performed by members of the AHS Symphony Orchestra, and will also include selected short films from both the Anderson and Turpin Studio Film classes. Don’t miss this celebration of groundbreaking student film!

Making the Arts Accessible Workshop On March 4 (Online March 5-11) from Ghostlight Stage Company

TGL_Making the Arts AccessibleMany artists and producers don’t know quite where to start when it comes to making their programming more accessible for all. For some, it could be they just don’t know where to start. For others, it could be the financial barriers of implementing different strategies. The Ghostlight has brought in experts from Clovernook Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired and Ghost Light Artistic Interpreting to take some of the guesswork out. Join us for this informative 2 hour lecture on how anyone can make their artistic ventures more accessible, no matter the size of their budget.

A 2-hour workshop including:

  • how to provide a more equitable cultural experience for people who are blind or low vision and deaf or hard of hearing (and easy / budget friendly places to start)
  • how to engage and co-design with people who are blind or low vision
  • what makes a qualified theater interpreter
  • how to build your audience with access in mind

This workshop will be led by Samuel Foulkes and other team members of Cincinnati Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired and Keara Beck Ortt of Ghost Light Artistic Interpreting.
