Casting Call-Equity or Non Equity Male at Caroline Scott Players

CSP_logoCaroline Scott Players is casting Equity or non-Equity male for the regional premiere of Richard Greenberg’s OUR MOTHER’S BRIEF AFFAIR earlier this year by the Manhattan Theatre Club.

Looking for a male late 40-50’s for the romantic interest of the mother. Rehearsals are Tues. through Thurs. evening and Saturday mornings beginning Oct. 8. Production is Nov. 19-21. This role has great flexibility in scheduling rehearsals.

Caroline Scott Players is the Oxford Community Arts Center’s semi-professional resident theatre company. Now in its third season, the company produces contemporary works for area audiences. Equity performers will appear under guest artist contract at minimum. Non-equity actors may receive stipend.

Development Assistant Sought at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park

The Development Assistant serves as the gift recorder for the Playhouse, ensuring that all donations are accurately processed and donors are properly recognized and acknowledged for their support on a timely basis. The Development Assistant also serves as key staff support for department events, working closely with the Director of Donor Engagement to ensure a high quality event experience for all involved. Finally, the Development Assistant provides critical administrative support to other department team members, including serving as the back-up Donor Concierge. The Development Assistant is a full-time non-exempt position with benefits. Evening and weekend hours are sometimes required.

Reports to: Director of Donor Engagement and Individual Giving/Stewardship Manager

Position Responsibilities:

Gift Recorder Responsibilities (50%)

  • Manage the department’s donation process, including: accurately process all daily gift receipts including contributions and pledges; prepare deposit batches of gifts for business office; prepare gift acknowledgments (daily) and pledge invoices (monthly); maintain accurate documentation of gifts of securities and outstanding pledges.
  • Prepare the program donor listings.

Event Responsibilities (35%)

  • Assist the Director of Donor Engagement with department events, including: printing and mailing invitations; managing reservations; and event logistics, including catering, entertainment and venue preparation.

Administrative Support (15%)

  • Serve as the back-up Donor Concierge.
  • Prepare department mailings and provide administrative support for Development staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Competencies:

  • Strong organizational skills including careful attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills including high proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Experience with development software, database programs and/or Tessitura highly desirable.
  • Experience working on special events for nonprofit organizations highly desirable.
  • Bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred.
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to successfully manage several priorities on a regular basis.
  • A desire to be an integral member of a high-functioning development team.
  • A passion for theatre and/or the arts is highly desirable.
  • Minimum associate’s degree or equivalent experience required.

Physical Demands:

  • The employee is frequently required to stand and walk, and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • This position is partially sedentary, and the employee is required to regularly talk and hear.

The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, a two time Tony Award-winning LORT B theatre with a $10 million+ operating budget, seeks a motivated, talented and dynamic individual to join our scenic fabrication team producing high quality scenery for internationally famous designers and directors.

The successful candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • Self-motivated team player who handles pressure well while working in a deadline-oriented industry and embracing a safety-oriented work environment.
  • Ability to self-critique and correct work while maintaining sensitivity to the overall artistic vision is paramount.
  • A BFA in technical production or equivalent experience, with three years additional professional experience.
  • A documented ability to produce high quality finished scenery from theatrical construction prints using a variety of materials including wood, steel, aluminum, foam, plastics and fabric.
  • Proficient in steel MIG welding.
  • Experience with CNC and vacuform machinery, as well construction techniques.
  • Experience with stage rigging, both counterweight and chain motor.
  • Familiarity with installation, operation and maintenance of stage and scenery equipment such as winches, pneumatics and hydraulic actuators, and motion control systems.
  • Familiarity with basic electrical principals and safety, including basic troubleshooting and reading of schematics.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb and perform work on ladders.
  • A valid driver’s license.

This is a full-time, seasonal position and is represented by IATSE Local 5. Current IATSE membership is not a prerequisite. Benefits include health insurance and paid vacation.

JOB TITLE:  Administrative Support Specialist II

POSITION:  EdTA seeks an Administrative Support Specialist II to support the many administrative, programmatic, event planning, and reporting needs of the association.  In addition, the Administrative Support Specialist II will provide executive support for the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.

SKILLS DESIRED:  Must be able to team with others as well as work independently, with minimal supervision, and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.  The ideal candidate is detail oriented, a clear communicator, forward thinking, creative, and imaginative.  The ideal candidate has a customer first orientation. The ideal candidate should be execution-focused, able to roll up your sleeves and focus on the task at hand.  The ideal candidate has experience with database management and the ability to be flexible in working with different technologies.  Experience in the non-profit sector, theatre and/or education preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Support Specialist supports the Assistant Manager of Support Services in meeting the various administrative needs of several departments across the organization.  Success in the role requires the ability to build relationships with staff and volunteers, an affinity toward data management, research, and some amount of event planning and support.  The Support Specialist will be the lead on several projects that require great attention to detail.  The Support Specialist will provide executive support for the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in the production of reports to support organizational decision making.
  • Creates tools to increase the efficiency of staff and supports the ability to be more productive for our membership.
  • Participates in the execution of several key processes, such as event registration, scholarship application processing, and new business development.
  • Assists in the support of the association’s volunteer leaders, as needed.
  • Fulfills volunteer leader materials and information requests.
  • Provides executive support for the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills.
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • Familiarity with event planning.
  • High school level math skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience in theatre is a plus.
