Auditions Announced for URINETOWN at The Story Collective

TSC_logoThe Story Collective is looking for performers with strong singing and acting skills, who can move or dance well, for our production of URINETOWN.

Show dates are July 26th-28th.

Rehearsals begin in mid-late May.

All roles are paid.

AUDITION INFORMATION
For online submissions: Please prepare 24-32 bars of a musical theatre comedy song AND a 1 minute comedic monologue. HOWEVER, please deliver both the song and monologue as if you were in a dramatic piece.  Send submissions to susanj@thestorycollective.org with “urinetown” in the subject line. Deadline to submit is April 15th.

Auditioners must provide EITHER marked sheet music for the accompanist or a track. No a cappella auditions please.

Auditions Announced for THE HELLO GIRLS at Beavercreek Community Theatre

Monday, April 22, or Tuesday, April 23, at 7pm each night
Callbacks on Wednesday, April 24, at 7pm

Performance dates are June 21-30

Prepare one minute of a Broadway-style song that demonstrates your vocal abilities and character.  An accompanist and Bluetooth speaker will be provided.

Auditioners should also be prepared to learn a brief dance combination to demonstrate movement ability.

Please arrive early to fill out audition form, which will include a listing of any conflicts between April 29 and the opening of the show on June 21.

We are looking for diverse performers to build a vocally strong ensemble of five women and at least five men who can each independently hold a harmony line.

Character Breakdown (general “stage age” listed in parentheses):
Grace Banker (mid 20s-30s): From Passaic, New Jersey; the leader of the squadron that went to the front, she received the Distinguished Service Medal for her bravery under fire; graduated from Barnard in 1915 and worked at AT&T as a telephone operator and supervisor before joining the army; articulate and poised, with a core of steely strength that makes itself apparent as she grows into her role as leader.

Suzanne Prevot (mid 20s-30s): From New York City; feisty, sardonic, tough talking; a close friend of Grace’s from AT&T; she was among the few who lived to be officially recognized by the Army; very invested in the fight for women’s suffrage and leads the women’s fight for recognition after the war.

Louise LeBreton (late teens-early 20s): From San Francisco; fearless, flirty, headstrong and often insubordinate; she lies about her age to join the army; born in France, she has family fighting with the French army.

Helen Hill (early 20s-30s): From outside Boise, Idaho; a typical small town farm girl. From a family of 17 children with a mother who speaks French; sweet, over-enthusiastic, wholesomely kooky and prone to nervous panic.

Bertha Hunt (30s-40s): From San Francisco; married to a Navy doctor who is also serving; older, wiser, reliable; The Den Mother; extremely knowledgeable about military matters.

Cpt. Joseph Riser (30s to 40s): The Signal Corps commanding officer who recruits and trains the women, and journeys with them to the front; a career army man, a stickler for rules and order, he is skeptical of the women’s presence in the army, even as his own success relies on theirs; he develops a close working relationship with Grace, who challenges his world view and converts him to an advocate.

Gen. John Pershing (40s to 50s): Commander of the American Expeditionary Forces; Hard, relentless, inflexible, with a deep sense of honor and American individualism and identity.

Pvt. Eugene Matterson* (20s to 30s): An enlisted man who works closely with Lt. Riser.

Lt. Ernest Wessen* (20s to 30s): Head of the recruiting center for the Signal Corps

Pvt. Robert Dempsey* (20s to 30s): A Signal Corps operator at the Paris Telephone Exchange

Auditions Announced for MOMENTS OF TRUTH at Village Players

VP_new logoVillage Players of Fort Thomas is holding auditions for MOMENTS OF TRUTH – a Village Players New Works Production. In-person auditions will take place on Wednesday, April 17, at 7:00pm, and Thursday, April 18, at 7:00pm, at 8 North Center for the Arts (in the street-level Judith M. Sarakatsannis Gallery) at 8 North Fort Thomas Ave., KY, 41075. Show dates are June 28, 29, 30.

MOMENTS OF TRUTH will be directed by Teri Foltz and Drue Harris, and produced by Angela Klocke Forbes and Peggy Kenney. Narisa Williams will serve as the Stage Manager.

Auditions will consist of cold readings with sides provided; no prepared monologues. A resume and headshot are appreciated but not required. Auditionees should be prepared to list all known conflicts between May 6 and June 30.

Roles are available for adults of all ages, types, genders, and ethnicities. Dual casting is possible. Notes: Ages indicate approximate stage ages. M = male-identifying; F = female-identifying. Actors of all ages, ethnicities, genders, and abilities are encouraged to audition.

Auditions Announced for 2024 Season at SouthBank Shakespeare

SBS_logoSign-ups are open for the SouthBank Shakespeare 2024 season!

Auditions are April 20 & 21 from 11:30am-4pm at Thomas More University.

Andrew Leonard will be directing an indoor production of Coriolanus (June 20-23) at the Thomas More University Theatre and Liz Carman will be staging The Tempest (July 25-28) for performances in Bellevue’s Beach Park and an outdoor location at TMU.

Click on the link below for available audition slots. Once you’ve signed up, we’ll send you a link with sides from the plays that you can choose from to read for the audition. No memorized monologues/soliloquies necessary. All roles will receive a small stipend.

Auditions Announced for 2024 Summer New Works Festival at Cincinnati Lab Theatre

CLT_logo2Cincinnati LAB Theatre will be holding auditions for their 2024 Summer New Works Festival on April 2 & 3, 2024, 7pm-9pm, at the Bell Tower Arts Pavilion in Evendale, OH.

Our 2024 Summer New Works Festival will be held July 18-27, 2024, with rehearsals beginning June 16, 2024.
