Auditions Announced for MATILDA the Musical at Cincinnati Music Theatre

CMT_logoOur 61st Mainstage Season leaps off the screen & page and onto the stage in Roald Dahl’s MATILDA the Musical. Featuring a large cast of children and adults, ‘Matilda the Musical’ is a triumphant and bold new musical that follows Matilda Wormwood, a girl with the gift of telekinesis, who loves reading more than anything, as she follows her heart on a journey we will never forget.

This production staff is committed to bringing together a diverse group of people who are dedicated to bringing this story to life. We encourage performers of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, sexualities, abilities, and body types, to submit an audition. We hope to unite a group of people looking to enhance the arts in our community. No roles have been precast.

*Please note, at this time, the minimum age to audition is ten (10) years old.

Auditions Announced for CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG at Encore Community Theatre

Performance Dates: July 18-20, 2024

Auditions:

  • Come with a musical theatre song in a similar style as the show. In groups, auditionees will sing, learn a dance, and perform the dance.
  • Those who are asked to callbacks will be asked to sing a given song from the show and read from the script.
  • Please bring a list of conflict to auditions.
  • Rehearsals will begin Tuesday, May 28th
  • Children auditioning are by walk-ins only! You will only be asked to sing**

Roles:

  • Caractacus Potts 30+: An eccentric inventor, living father. His inventions and family are his life. Bari/Tenor. Strong actor/mover-dancer/singer
  • Grandpa Potts 45+: Caractacus’s father, former war hero. A second father to Jeremy and Jemima. Baritone. Comedic actor/mover/singer
  • Baron Bomburst 40+: Ruler of Vulgaria. Lover of tots, hater of children. Immature, needy, whiney. Baritone/bass. Comedic actor/mover/singer
  • Toymaker 40+: Makes toys for the Baron in the childless country of Vulgaria. Smart but easily frightened. Baritone/bass. Actor/mover/singer
  • Boris and Goran 18+: Duo of bumbling spies working for the baron and Baroness. Baritone/tenors. Comedic actors/strong movers/ singers/physicality in staging a plus. Ex. Gymnastics, falls.
  • Childcatcher 20+: Makes sure Vulgaria is free of children, evil, sinister. Non singing, but excellent feature role.
  • Lord Scrumptious 40+: Owner of the Scrumptious candy factory. Busy, pompous, decisive. Non singing but fun feature role.
  • Truly Scrumptious 20+: Daughter of the famous candy maker. Strong, independent but gentle. Falls in love with Caractacus. Soprano. Strong actress, mover/dancer/ singer
  • Baroness Bomburst 30+: Truly the ruler of Vulgaria, hates children. Tyrannical and over dramatic. Soprano. Strong actress/mover/singer
  • Jeremy and Jemima 9-12: The son and daughter of Caractacus, both have vivid imaginations and love their family very much. These are 2 very large roles for children. Actors/movers/singers. Jeremy has to have an unchanged voice.
  • Ensemble ages 9 and up to play children, townspeople, candy factory workers, inventors, party guests, etc! There is a lot to do!

Auditions Announced for Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST at East Side Players

esp_logoSundays April 28 and May 5 from 1-5pm at the Blue Ash Rec Center, 4433 Cooper Road (near the intersection of Cooper and Reed Hartman).

Auditions will be scheduled, and reservations are requested. “Walk ins” the days of the auditions may be scheduled on a first come, first serve basis, into any remaining unscheduled audition time slots if time permits. With a reservation, the whole audition process should take about an hour or less, without a reservation, plan on spending some time.

Auditions Announced for FUTUREFEST 2024 at Dayton Playhouse

DPH_logoJoin us for the upcoming FutureFest by participating in our open auditions on Monday, May 20th, and Tuesday, May 21st, both at 7 pm at the Dayton Playhouse – 1301 E Siebenthaler Ave, Dayton, OH 45414-5300.

Auditions will involve cold readings from the scripts, offering you a chance to showcase your talent. Stay tuned for the announcement of our directors, to be revealed late next week.

The Chrysalis by Joe Ricci

  • DR. JOHN SICURA (65): A widower for almost two years, father to Kerrigan and Vicki. Normally easygoing but has grown restless living alone in the big house and yearns for more.
  • KERRIGAN SICURA (35): John’s younger daughter. Tightly pulled together and type A. She is the breadwinner of her family, pulling in a high 6-figure salary working a high-pressure job in finance. Can be quirky and funny. Married to Colin.
  • COLIN (33): A former investigative reporter, now a stay-at-home dad for Kerrigan’s and his twin boys. Struggles with restlessness and loneliness with Kerrigan working so much.
  • VICKI SICURA (39): John’s older daughter. An artist in every aspect of her life. Follows her muse wherever it takes her and always says what’s on her mind, no matter how inappropriate.
  • OLIVIA DESANTOS (34): Very attractive and bubbly real estate agent. A real pro who always has a smile and does whatever she can to make the client comfortable.

  • JOAN (52): Matt’s mother. This is a woman who has lots of stuff, both external and internal. Disheveled but it all works for her—never too much.
  • MATT (24): Joan’s son. Handsome, athletic, but otherwise an enigmatic blank slate.

  • GREGG (30s): Male, math teacher. Nerdy and sweet.
