THE MUSIC MAN follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons the people of River City, Iowa into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he vows to organize – this despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef.  By turns wicked, funny, warm, romantic and touching, THE MUSIC MAN is family entertainment at its best. Auditions Announced for EATING RAOUL at Beavercreek Community Theatre

bctOpen auditions for EATING RAOUL at

Beavercreek Community Theatre
3868 Dayton-Xenia Rd.
Beavercreek, OH 45432

Auditions are August 22-23 at 7PM

Directed by Doug Lloyd

Performance Dates: October 28-November 6, 2016

Please prepare a short Broadway or classical style song, an accompanist will be provided. There will be cold readings from the script.

The cult film classic has a new life as a zany musical. The Blands want to open a restaurant, but they need cash. Suppose they lure weirdos to their apartment to kill and rob them? Soon, they are a financial success, but disposing of the bodies is a problem. Enter the devious apartment super, Raoul, with a proposition: he will take care of the corpses for a cut (when he’s not performing at a tacky nightclub). The partnership runs amuck and Mary ultimately bops Raoul with her deadly frying pan. Now the Blands have the money they need and they celebrate with a gourmet meal – guess who’s the main course.

This is one wildly wicked musical revue of novelty songs (there are no sad ones in this bunch). Music, laughter, and no one spared—when you’re dealing with the humor of Tom Lehrer, nothing is sacred.

In concerts, television appearances and a series of now-classic recordings, the Harvard-educated math professor delighted millions of fans during the 1950’s and 60’s with his dry, cynical but good-humored attacks on the A-bomb, racism, pollution, pornography, the military, the boy scouts and, of course, mathematics. Nothing is sacred in this hysterical revue featuring such Lehrer favorites as “Poisoning Pigeons In The Park,” “When You Are Old And Grey,” “The Masochism Tango,” “The Old Dope Peddler,” “The Vatican Rag” and an unforgettable Gilbert and Sullivan-esque recitation of the table of elements, linked together with his own inimitable concert patter.

Please contact the director, Judy Berrens with any questions. 513-608-3392 goddessofsplendor@yahoo.com
