Virtual Auditions Announced for MISCAST CABARET at Beechmont Players

Beechmont Players is pleased to announce virtual auditions for our MISCAST CABARET directed by Michael Yarick!

Have you ever wanted to sing *that* song from a role you’d never be cast in? Well now’s your chance! Video submissions are officially open for our Miscast Cabaret, a show where performers flip the script and perform songs they’d never traditionally do.

What to include:

  • A video of at least 60 seconds of your miscast performance (doesn’t need to be the entire song but we’ll gladly accept those too!)
  • Please sing along with a track for your video, but note that performances will have live accompaniment.
  • All conflicts during the month of September and the first week of October.
  • The second song you’d like to sing (each vocalist will perform two songs each) – duets will also be considered!

Please upload and submit your audition video to beechmontplayers.org/auditions by June 30th at 9pm!

Rehearsals begin in September and will be very minimal (2-3 total) and they’ll be scheduled as one-hour individual sessions for each singer.

Performances run October 3-5th at Epiphany United Methodist Church, with a mandatory dress rehearsal on October 2nd.

We can’t wait to see your submissions!

Directed by Judy Berrens

Bell Tower Arts Pavilion
3270 Glendale Milford Rd

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.

THE LOST VIRGINITY TOUR is about friendship, heartache, regrets and first loves.

Happy Trails Senior Resort Living in Surprise, AZ is where the ladies of the Happy Trails Baking Club meet weekly, swapping desserts and recipes. But when these four friends start swapping stories about their “first time”, one of them bakes up an idea- to take a road trip across the country, revisiting each location where they lost their virginities. Tears, laughter, memories and secrets are all revealed as each lady shares the details about their first time. Will revisiting the past alter their futures?

Four women, (stage age) 60’s and over, retired and living in Happy Trails Senior Resort Community in Surprise, Arizona.

VIOLA, Divorcee (several times over) A mouthy hard ass from New Jersey, she has a tough exterior, but cares for her friends deeply. Even when she gives them a hard time, it comes from a place of love.

KITTY, Single, a sweet Southern belle. A bit of a drama queen, especially if she feels wronged (as she frequently does), but loyal to a fault. Southern accent required

RITA, Married, a smart earthy type. The most grounded and practical of the group, she still has a sense of humor, even after 38 years of marriage.

ELAINE, Widow, the oldest of the group. Motherly and wise, she is often called on to be the peacemaker when the ladies have a disagreement.
