Character Breakdown: listed ages are stage ages

SIDNEY BRUHL – (Male. 50s-60s) A highly acclaimed playwright currently experiencing a creative drought. He’s usually the smartest and most charming one in the room and very much enjoys that. Sidney is extremely ambitious and is not accustomed to “creative droughts”

CLIFFORD ANDERSON – (Male. 20s-early 30s) A young, attractive aspiring writer who attended one of Sidney’s playwriting seminars. Very open and eager to please…or is he?

MYRA BRUHL – (Female. (late 40s to 60s) Sidney’s loving and supportive wife. She is a kind and calming presence during some of Sidney’s stormier moods. She’s given to anxiety and has a heart condition.

HELGA TEN DORP – (Female. 50+) Celebrity Psychic who enjoys every minute of her fame. She says what’s on her mind and is not easily intimidated. (Note: This character has a Dutch accent – you may attempt it at the audition, but it is not required. We will be working with a dialect coach)

PORTER MILGRIM –  ( Male. 50+.) Sidney’s friend and attorney. Very sharp and observant of his surroundings, rather protective of Sidney.

Due to the death inducing nature of several scenes, we will be employing the use of a fight coordinator in order to ensure the safety and comfort of the actors.
