Comedy Gold: AN EVENING OF CULTURE Brings Hometown Hilarity

Williamstown, KY – Stage Right Musical Theatre Company is delighted to announce its summer production of the uproarious comedy AN EVENING OF CULTURE by Mark Landon Smith. Performances run July 11 through July 20, 2025, at the Williamstown Performing Arts Center.

AN EVENING OF CULTURE follows the well‑intentioned but hapless members of the fictional Mineola Council for Cultural Recognition as they attempt to stage Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet in the gymnasium of the local Middle School. From forgotten lines and incomplete scenery to a persistently barking offstage dog, the community theater troupe encounters one calamity after another—but their enthusiasm never wavers. Smith’s razor‑sharp script delivers non stop laughter from curtain rise to final bow.

“AN EVENING OF CULTURE is the perfect recipe for side‑splitting summer fun, ” says Artistic Director John Siedenberg II. “Our stellar cast is ready to bring these lovable, chaotic characters to life, and we can’t wait to share the hilarity with both longtime patrons and first‑time theatergoers. ”

AN EVENING OF CULTURE stars Mary Vosseberg, Jacob Siedenberg, Ashley Phillips, Kelli Jo Summers, Emily Lamping, Karli Smith, Donald Washington, and Zachary Simpson. The production is directed by John Siedenberg II, Stage Managed by Maggie Ballard with costume design by Emily Carroll, Props by Doug Bruening, Fight Choreography by Chelsea Russell, and production design by John Siedenberg.

Performances will run Friday and Saturday at 7:30 and Sunday matinees at 2:30. Tickets are on sale now at www.StageRightMTC.org. Discounted tickets are available for groups of 8 or more.

Bob Gale said, “To paraphrase Marty McFly, you guys are ready for this, and your kids are gonna love it (too)! If Bob Zemeckis and I time traveled back to 1980 and told our younger selves that the script they were struggling to write would become a Broadway musical 43 years later, they’d kick us out of their office and call us crazy. Well, sometimes, crazy ideas give birth to great entertainment, and now Bob and I are eager to share our musical vision with audiences worldwide. Regardless of whether you’ve seen the original film, BACK TO THE FUTURE: The Musical, with its outstanding performances and incredible stagecraft, will delight and enthrall you, your kids, your parents, and everyone you know!”
