THE SECOND CITY — IT’S NOT YOU, IT’S ME Runs Jan. 10-27

PIP_Second City Its Not You Its Me logoTHE SECOND CITY — IT’S NOT YOU, IT’S ME
Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park
Jan. 10-27
Shelterhouse Theatre [Eden Park]

The Second City has been laughing at love and its various side effects for decades. The Second City – It’s Not You, It’s Me takes shots at heartbreak, missed connections and the mire of human relationships, as seen through the eyes of the next generation of comic writers and performers. Your friends, parents and blind date will all find something achingly familiar to laugh at.

ADVISORY: THE SECOND CITY — IT’S NOT YOU, IT’S ME is appropriate for adults and older teenage audiences. With a comedic style similar to Saturday Night Live, this show includes improvised content and will likely include adult language and mature themes associated with the hilariously painful side of dating and relationships.

FACE TO FACE On Jan. 8

CPI_Face to Face logoFACE TO FACE
Cincinnati Playwright Initiative
Jan. 8
Aronoff Center Fifth Third Bank Theater [Downtown]

Written by David Greenburg

Staged reading of Greenberg’s no-holds-barred script, about a father with dark secrets and his self-loathing gay son in an extended slash-and- burn confrontation. Distorted Old Testament echoes and controversial contemporary Israeli issues color the decidedly disturbing proceedings.
