Directors Call for 2026-2027 Season at Cincinnati Music Theatre

Cincinnati Music Theatre Season

Attention all directors: CMT’s Creative Committee is now accepting submissions for the 2026-2027 season!

Be a part of CMT’s 60+ year legacy and bring your vision to life at one of the city’s best venues – the Aronoff Center for the Arts.

Each season, our 100% volunteer-driven organization stages two large-scale Main Stage Series productions in the Jarson-Kaplan Theater, and three cabaret-style Studio Series productions in the Fifth Third Theater. For the Studio Series, preference will be given to original works.

Directors, please fill out this Google Form no later than midnight, November 15, 2025. Interviews and presentations to the CMT Board of Trustees will take place towards the end of the year.

After suffering a recent nervous breakdown, Jan retreats with her husband Greg, an archaeologist, to a secluded farmhouse in the countryside—conveniently located near his latest dig site. Hoping for peace and quiet, Jan instead finds herself swept up in eerie tales from George, the quirky and comical farmer who owns the house. He warns of a gruesome murder that once occurred there… and a ghost that still haunts the grounds. Just as Jan’s nerves begin to fray, Greg’s alluring and conniving sister Laura shows up unannounced, further disrupting Jan’s fragile sense of calm. Strange noises echo through the night, chilling visions plague her, and Jan begins to question what’s real and what’s not. Is she relapsing—or is someone trying to drive her mad? As the tension escalates, Jan’s fight for sanity takes a shocking turn in a gripping night of suspense, mystery, and psychological thrills. Adult themes/violence not recommended for small children.

It’s summertime in Kent and Charles Condomine is working on his latest novel, The Unseen. As part of his research he and his wife Ruth host a séance with an eccentric medium known as Madame Arcati and invite their friends to play along. But the evening takes a supernatural turn when Arcati conjures Charles’ deceased first wife, who doesn’t have plans to leave. Lighthearted and endearing, this otherworldly classic is sure to tickle your goosebumps!
