Arthur Przybyszewski, a former 1960’s radical, owns a rundown donut shop in Chicago’s Uptown. His only employee, an energetic but troubled young African American assistant, Franco, wants to update the establishment with lively music and healthy menu options. The writing is on the wall that things are going to change — maybe even for the better. SUPERIOR DONUTS explores the challenges of embracing the past, and the redemptive power of friendship.

Directed by Jared Mola
Produced by Debra Kent

The show runs weekends Jun 7-23, 2024.

ACT Cincinnati Rising Star Award Renamed to The Joel Lind Rising Star Award

MCP_Joel LindIt is with great excitement we announce the Rising Star Award has officially been renamed the Joel Lind Rising Star Award after a unanimous vote from the ACT Cincinnati member groups. Joel Lind and Peyton Hahn were the driving forces behind the award’s creation back in 2019, and Joel continued to be a tireless advocate of the award, always striving to recognize people for their hard work and dedication to community theater and the ACT community in general.

We couldn’t think of a more appropriate way to honor Joel’s memory than by affixing his name to the award he was so passionate about.

As a reminder, all groups can nominate a candidate for the Joel Lind Rising Star award, as well as for the Art Rouse, Mario Pitocco, and Roger Grooms awards until May 1, 2024. All information can be found here on our website: Annual Awards | ACT Cincinnati
