The Drama Workshop Presents BECKY’S NEW CAR

TDW_Beckys New CarBecky Foster is caught in middle age, middle management and in a middling marriage — with no prospects for change on the horizon. Then one night, a socially inept and grief-struck millionaire stumbles into the car dealership where Becky works. Becky is offered nothing short of a new life … and the audience is offered a chance to join the wild ride. “Becky’s new Car” is a thoroughly original comedy with serious overtones, a devious and delightful romp down the road not taken.

When it premiered in 2008, Talkin’ Broadway said the play is a “the perfect two-hour escape from the endless political campaign, stock market collapse, and other daily woes of modern life. You won’t see a comedy this good on television or in the neighborhood multi-plex.”

Written by Steven Dietz. Directed by Tom Peters.

Auditions Announced for ROCK OF AGES at CenterStage Players

CSP_logoCenterStage Players is pleased to announce auditions for their fall production of ROCK OF AGES.

Auditions will be held at the Dunham Arts Center (1945 Dunham Way – Cincinnati) on Sunday, April 7 from 1:00-5:00 PM and on Monday, April 8 from 6:30-9:30 PM. Callbacks (if needed) will be on Wednesday, April 10 beginning at 6:30 PM. All individuals auditioning must be 18 or older.

It’s the tail end of the big, bad 1980’s in Hollywood, and the party has been raging hard. Aqua Net, Lycra, lace, and liquor flow freely at one of the Sunset Strip’s last legendary venues, a place where sex machine Stacee Jaxx takes the stage and scantily glad groupies line up to turn their fantasies into realities. Amidst the madness, aspiring rock star (and resident toilet cleaner) Drew longs to take the stage as the next big thing (and longs for small-town girl Sherrie, fresh off the bus from Kansas with stars in her eyes). But the rock-n-roll fairy tale is about to end when German developers sweep into town with plans to turn the fabled strip into yet another capitalist strip mall. Can Drew, Sherrie, and the gang save the strip (and themselves) before it’s too late? Only the music of hit bands Styx, Journey, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, and more hold the answer.

Roles Available (no roles have been pre-cast):
