Auditions Announced for MUSE

MUSE: Cincinnati’s Women’s Choir, a nationally recognized social justice choir, is searching for passionate voices to join in creating beautiful music.

Audition Details

  • When: September 17
  • Where: Community Matters, 2104 Saint Michael Street, Cincinnati OH

  • What: Auditions are scheduled in 15-minute increments and include an informal interview, a vocal audition, a vocal warm-up, and a sight-singing component (sight-singing is optional).

Candidates will receive a prompt call after their audition with the results.

Diverse Membership: MUSE is committed to representing diversity in its membership, encouraging all ages, ethnicities, backgrounds, sexual preferences, and musical styles to audition.
Rehearsal Schedule: Rehearsals are held on Mondays from 7:00 – 9:30 p.m., with the expectation of participation in concerts and run-out events.
Supportive Environment: New members are assigned a “buddy” for support, and the choir provides leadership within each section to facilitate a smooth transition into MUSE.

Auditions Announced for THE WORLD GOES ROUND at Cincinnati Music Theatre

CMT_Studio Series logo2Director Megan Horton and Producers Karen Hendershot & Mary Stone are proud to announce auditions for our February 2024 Studio Series Production of THE WORLD GOES ROUND.

A musical revue showcasing the songs of John Kander and Fred Ebb with familiar songs from Chicago and Cabaret as well as songs from more unknown works like Funny Lady and The Rink. Filled with humor, romance, drama, and nonstop melody, THE WORLD GOES ROUND teaches us that no matter what life throws at us, our lives keep going and the world keeps turning.

Auditions will take place Oct. 13 from 6:30-9:30pm & Oct. 14 from 2-5pm.

Performances run Feb. 9-17.

The packet contains selections from the script – choose one to deliver as a short monologue as well as scenes that you’ll perform with other auditionees.

If you are not able to attend either day, video auditions can be sent to bcpe2023@gmail.com until 4:00 on Sept 17th (before the live auditions). Please record yourself delivering your chosen monologue and reading at least one of the scenes provided (an off-camera voice should read other lines).

Call for Directors for 2024 Summer Musical at Bart’s Bards

Bart’s Bards, a theatrical ministry of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, is holding an Open Call for Directors for our summer 2024 musical.  Dates for the run are Thursday, June 6 (evening); Friday, June 7 (evening); Saturday, June 8 (matinee and evening); and Sunday, June 9 (matinee).  The show will be performed on the Ray Sowell Commemorative Stage in the Fr. William F. Krumpe Activity Center in Springfield Township, OH. Interested persons should email Elle Rothan at bartsbards@gmail.com to schedule a 45-minute evening appointment time to occur before September 30, 2023.

Potential directors may pitch up to two shows.  The show which is selected will: 1) be a large-cast musical production for members of all ages, including the potential for a large number of children; 2) have several lead-role opportunities for actors of all ages; and 3) be a family-friendly production that presents a message that is consistent with the values of the Catholic Church.  To aid potential directors with show selection, here is a list of our most recent productions:
