Cast Announced for HARPERS FERRY 2019 at Know Theatre

KTC_Harpers Ferry 2019 promoWhen three young National Park rangers clash over a work assignment, sparks of romance and revolution fly up in HARPERS FERRY 2019, making its world premiere March 4 – 20 at Know Theatre of Cincinnati. Harpers Ferry, the site of abolitionist John Brown’s raid that sparked the Civil War, has become a national historic park serving as a monument for the struggle for freedom and civil rights. Now, on the 75th anniversary of that park and the 160th anniversary of Brown’s ill-fated raid, a trio of young park rangers prepare for a celebration and re-enactment, under the watchful eyes of a reality TV crew, documenting it all. But this isn’t “Real World: Harpers Ferry,”  and the sparks of interpersonal drama have the potential to light a metaphorical powder keg.

We’re delighted to announce the cast for our first MainStage show of 2022!

Ryan-Chavez Richmond as Jay
An ambitious young park ranger, Jay is tasked with directing a living-history reenactment of John Brown’s ill-fated raid on Harpers Ferry. He expects it to be hard work – but he doesn’t expect the sparks that fly between the three to kindle an uncontrollable flame.

Ryan-Chavez makes his MainStage debut with HARPERS FERRY 2019.

Veronica Dang* as Celia
Celia’s polished and bright exterior hides how hard she’s working to keep her secrets from everyone around her, including her old friend Paul and her new flame Jay.
Veronica makes her MainStage debut with HARPERS FERRY 2019.
* Member of Actors’ Equity Association

Samuel Fisher as Paul
When wannabe-revolutionary Paul is reunited with his high school crush Celia, he struggles to lay aside his past feelings for her even as he dreams of a brighter future and as his coworkers begin to worry their historical reenactment bleeds too far into Paul’s real life.

Samuel makes his MainStage debut with HARPERS FERRY 2019.

Watch History Unfold

Hungerford, costume design by Noelle Wedig-Johnston, sound and projection design by Douglas Borntrager, and props design by Kayla Williams. ABOUT THE SHOW
Menopause The Musical® is a groundbreaking celebration of women who are on the brink of, in the middle of, or have survived “The Change.” Now celebrating twenty years of female empowerment through hilarious musical comedy, Menopause The Musical® has evolved as a “grassroots” movement of women who deal with life adjustments after forty by embracing each other and the road ahead.

Set in a department store, four women meet while shopping for a black lace bra at a lingerie sale. After noticing similarities among one another, the cast jokes about their woeful hot flashes, mood swings, wrinkles, weight gain, and much more. These women form a sisterhood and unique bond with the entire audience as they rejoice in celebrating that menopause is no longer “The Silent Passage.”

Inspired by a hot flash and a bottle of wine, Menopause The Musical® was created as a celebration of women who find themselves at any stage of “The Change.” The laughter-filled 90-minute production gets audience members out of their seats and singing along to parodies from classic pop songs of the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s.

Menopause The Musical® is now in its twentieth year and fifteenth year as the longest-running musical in Las Vegas history, performing nightly at Harrah’s Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Seen by more than seventeen million people, it has played every state in the continental U.S. and more than five hundred cities and seventeen countries worldwide; has toured internationally in Australia, Canada, Croatia, France, Hungary, New Zealand, Slovenia, South Korea and the U.K.; and has been translated into nine languages. For more information, visit www.MenopauseTheMusical.com.
