Mini-Headshot Sessions Fundraiser at Village Players

VP_new logoApril 1, 2021, Fort Thomas, KY—On Saturday, April 10th, Village Players of Fort Thomas will open its doors to the public (in a safe and orderly manner, of course) for the first time in more than a year as we offer mini-headshot sessions with local photographer Tracy Moser! 100% of proceeds benefit the Village Players of Fort Thomas.

For a minimum donation of $25, participants receive a fifteen-minute session at 8 N. Fort Thomas Ave. and 1-5 edited photos, which will be ready May 1st. Participants may bring a flash drive, or receive their photos via a link (photo size may be compressed). Tracy can take requests for color, black & white, or a variety when you sign in.

Clothing changes are allowed and there is space to change on-site, but simple is best in order to maximize time. Some tips from the photographer for getting a great shot:

  • Wear what you feel good in, but remember that dark colors look richer and nicer on camera and layers are a great way to add interest.
  • It’s best to avoid busy or strong patterns, shimmer, graphics, too many accessories, ill-fitting items, or turtlenecks or very low-cut tops.
  • Make-up is best kept simple, though light contouring can enhance a photo if done correctly.
  • Hair pulled back can create the appearance of baldness on camera.
  • In general, it’s best to look like yourself!
  • Tracy welcomes examples if you have an idea of something you’d like to try to recreate. Do some Googling!

Register for an appointment at https://www.villageplayers.org/headshots. Please arrive fifteen minutes prior to your scheduled session, but don’t enter the building until that time so that we can minimize social contact (you know how unprecedented these times are!) Come in through the front doors on the street-level to sign in.

Credit cards and cash are both accepted, or you can pre-pay online using the donation link on the website’s headshots page. You can also join Village Players as a member prior to your appointment if you would like; membership forms will be on hand.

About the photographer: Tracy Moser is an amateur photographer in the Northern KY/Greater Cincinnati area. For the past several years, Tracy has worked closely with local theaters, primarily the Village Players of Fort Thomas, to capture live performance photos as well as actor and crew headshots. She also has experience in family, engagement, weddings, and much more (though her cats get the most time in front of her camera). After all of the distancing orders over the past year, Tracy is anxious to get back to taking photos again.

Village Players is grateful to Tracy for donating her time and talent, and to the community for helping us create and thrive this past year. We’re excited to offer this opportunity to local artists and to welcome you into our beautiful, historic building once again!

Village Players of Fort Thomas is a vibrant community theatre, continually producing plays and musicals from across the spectrum of periods and styles in its intimate, three-quarter-thrust performance space in the heart of Fort Thomas, Kentucky for more than fifty years. We stage innovative and of-the-moment works alongside beloved classic pieces while serving as an incubator for new talent, ideas, and writing. Each season includes four mainstage shows, including a family-friendly winter production, as well as a summer production of original short plays produced by the New Works branch of the group. Village Players is a member of the American Association of Community Theatre (AACT), Association of Community Theatres Cincinnati (ACT), Ohio Community Theatre Association (OCTA), and the Kentucky Theatre Association (KTA).
