Written with whimsical spirit, this imaginative play with music celebrates the tiny moments of joy within a child’s world. Recommended for ages 5 and up.

Cast Announced for THEATRE: A LOVE STORY at Know Theatre of Cincinnati

KTC_Theatre A Love Story logoThe boldly poetic script of THEATRE: A LOVE STORY, peels back layers of storytelling convention and artifice to expose the raw beating heart of performance, is presented in collaborative production that blurs the lines between theatre and film and which draws on the strength of Cincinnati’s artistic community with multiple directors, a local cast, and collaboration with the dance company Pones, Inc.

THEATRE: A LOVE STORY will stream online February 26 through March 27.

The Cast

A.J. Baldwin
A.J. has previously been seen at the Know as Gina in this season’s streamed production of Zack, and as the Beacon in 2019’s The Absentee. A.J. also appeared in Descent: A Murder Ballad at Cincy Fringe 2019, which won Producer’s Pick of the Fringe.

Montez O. Jenkins-Copeland
Montez’s previous appearances at the Know include playing Will in the 2016 musical Girlfriend and as one of the storytellers in 2019’s Rolling World Premiere Red Bike, also by Caridad Svich.

Elizabeth Chinn Molloy
Elizabeth has previously appeared at the Know as the puppeteer in SuperTrue (2018), Heather in Mercury (2019), and as Mother in In The Night Time (Before The Sun Rises) (2020).

Nathan Tubbs
Regular Know-goers might recognize Nathan from his appearances as Icarus in Heavier Than… (2017) or as Glenn in The Absentee (2019). Nathan has also been seen at the Know and the Cincinnati Fringe Festival as a troupe member with OTRimprov.

The Directors

Tamara Winters
Tamara is the Associate Artistic Director of the Know Theatre. Among the many shows she’s directed for our mainstage are this season’s Feast., and in previous seasons, Girl in the Red Corner, Susan Swayne and the Bewildered Bride, The Arsonists, Listen for the Light, Silent Sky, and Hearts Like Fists, to name just a few.

Daryl Harris
Dr. Daryl Harris is an Associate Professor at NKU School of the Arts Theatre and Dance Program. A 50-year veteran of traditional, experimental, and educational theatre, he has studied and worked as a producer, writer, director, actor, costume designer, and professor throughout North America, Europe, West Africa, Asia and Australia. Daryl appeared in the Know’s production of Beertown (2016).

Brant Russell
Brant’s directing work has appeared on the Know’s MainStage in The Man-Beast (2018) and In The Night Time (Before The Sun Rises) (2020), as well as in our 2019 SecondStage production of Sand, a solo show featuring Andrew J. Hungerford. As an actor, he appeared on the MainStage as the Sheriff in the Duncan Sheik musical Whisper House (2018).

THEATRE: A LOVE STORY features the work of the Know Theatre resident design and production team:

CCM’s Streaming Concert Series Continues on Feb. 12

CINCINNATI, OH—The University of Cincinnati’s nationally ranked and internationally renowned College-Conservatory of Music invites arts lovers from around the world to tune in to the next episode of CCMONSTAGE Online at 7:30 p.m. EST on Friday, Feb. 12, 2021. The premiere will stream simultaneously on CCM’s website, YouTube Channel and Facebook page.

Titled Joining Hands, this 30-minute-long virtual concert features CCM string quartet-in-residence the Ariel Quartet collaborating with master’s degree students Cristian Diaz and Denielle Wilson, who are also both second-year participants in CCM’s innovative Diversity Fellowship initiative with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.

To open the concert, Wilson and Diaz – a cellist and a violist respectively – join the Ariel Quartet on the stage of CCM’s Robert J. Werner Recital Hall for a performance of the first movement of Johannes Brahms’ String Sextet in B-flat Major.

The Ariel Quartet – which is comprised of CCM faculty members Alexandra “Sasha” Kazovsky, violin; Amit Even-Tov, cello; Gershon Gerchikov, violin; and Jan Grüning, viola – then perform the third movement of Felix Mendelssohn’s String Quartet in D Major.

For the finale of this digital program, the Ariel Quartet are rejoined by Diaz for a performance of the fourth movement of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s String Quintet in G Minor.

Like other episodes in CCM’s new virtual performance series, Joining Hands also features commentary from CCM students and faculty. All episodes of CCMONSTAGE Online will be digitally streamed for free. After the premiere broadcast, each installment in this ongoing series will remain available for on-demand viewing on CCM’s website, YouTube Channel and Facebook page.

Radio station WYRD is the hub for a list of local songwriters: high-school lovers, struggling interns, jealous besties, and zealous pastors. In a small town that keeps getting smaller, the radio tower broadcasts their emotions as music while they navigate relationships, regrets, and rediscovery. An original musical by Caleb Redslob. W-YRD is inspired by Cincinnati/ Northern Kentucky indie rock station W-NKU and features a cast and production team from the Cincinnati/Dayton area and beyond.
