COAT CHECK ATTENDANTS – SEASONAL

We are seeking customer-service oriented individuals, who enjoy working with patrons, to fill these seasonal Coat Check Attendant positions at our Music Hall location.

Responsibilities:
General responsibilities of the Coat Check Attendant include, but are not limited to;

  • providing exceptional customer service by tending to and taking responsibility of patron’s coats and other outerwear;
  • keeping coats and coat check area in a neat and orderly fashion;
  • setting up coat check area for events;
  • serving as a resource of information for all guests;
  • attending pre-shift meetings prior to event;
  • reconciling cash and ticket receipts.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must be able to provide:

  • exemplary customer service to all guests and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • ability to work well with a diverse population is critical to this position.
  • Minimum of one year’s experience in a customer service oriented environment.
  • Prior cash handling experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
  • This position carries a flexible/seasonal schedule but must be able to work late hours on mostly nights and weekends.

EVENT STAFF – PART-TIME

We are seeking individuals with outgoing personalities who enjoy working with people to fill these part-time Event Staff positions at our Aronoff Center for the Arts and Music Hall locations.

Responsibilities:

  • These are part-time positions with flexible schedules requiring primarily nights and weekends, some weekday shifts available.
  • Our Event Staff will assist in ensuring a safe and secure environment for our clients, guests, and staff by conducting security screenings and monitoring premises, while providing exceptional customer service.

Qualifications:

  • These individuals must possess the ability to exhibit appropriate, professional, and courteous demeanor when interacting with volunteers, staff and the public.
  • Previous experience in a security and/or customer-service environment is helpful.

FLOOR SUPERVISORS – PART-TIME

We are seeking customer-service oriented individuals to fill these part-time Floor Supervisor positions at our downtown Aronoff Center for the Arts and Music Hall locations.

Responsibilities:
General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • overseeing front-of-house functions in a designated quadrant for events and performances, while ensuring safety of patrons and providing exceptional customer service;
  • supervising volunteer usher positions; completing reports after events; monitoring lobby activity;
  • understanding and implementing emergency procedures.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must be able to:

  • exercise sound judgment and make decisions under pressure.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as exceptional customer service skills;
  • ability to work well with a diverse population is critical to this position.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the Floor Supervisor is regularly required to stand and walk for periods of time.
  • Ability to climb stairs efficiently essential.
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs.
  • Prior supervisory experience is must.
  • Familiarity with the public assembly setting, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA); CPR/First Aid experience a plus.
  • Must be available for a varied and flexible schedule; mostly nights and weekends.

Auditions Announced for NUNCRACKERS at Greater Hamilton Civic Theatre

GHCT_logoGreater Hamilton Civic Theater will be holding auditions for NUNCRACKERS – A Nunsense Christmas Musical.

AUDITION LOCATION:

AUDITION DATES:
MONDAY, OCTOBER 7th
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 8th
6:00PM Children ages 8 to 14
7:00PM Adults

CASTING
5 Women
1 Man
Adult Chorus (Male/Female)
Children’s Chorus
**There are speaking roles available for both the Adult and Children’s Chorus.

THE AUDITION:

  • Reservations are not required for an audition.
  • Please bring an accurate list of your availability from October through December 8th.
  • Please prepare 16-32 bars of a musical theatre piece in the style of the show.
  • A piano accompanist will be provided. You are also welcomed to bring your own accompaniment track.
  • You may be asked to do a cold reading from the script.​

REHEARSALS:

  • The cast will rehearse 3 to 4 evenings per-week, October through November.
  • The adult and children’s chorus will not be required at every rehearsal.
  • The entire cast must be available the entire day on Sunday, December 1st for the first Dress Rehearsal.

PERFORMANCES:
All performances will be held at Parrish Auditorium on the Hamilton Campus of Miami University.

Performances are December 4, 5, 6, 7 at 7:30pm and December 8 at 2:00pm.

The ultimate show-biz musical, 42nd Street celebrates Broadway, Times Square and the people who make the magic of musical theatre. Aspiring chorus girl Peggy Sawyer comes to the big city from Allentown, Pennsylvania, and soon lands her first big job in the ensemble of a glitzy new Broadway show. But just before opening night, the leading lady breaks her ankle. Will Peggy be able to step in and become a star? The score is chock-full of Broadway standards, including “You’re Getting To Be A Habit With Me,” “Dames,” “We’re In the Money,” “Lullaby of Broadway,” “Shuffle Off to Buffalo” and “Forty-Second Street.”

Auditions Announced for WE’RE HERE at Miami University Regionals Theatre

WE’RE HERE

Overview:
Play creation will be based on various existing play-devising (improvisational-based) techniques as well as new techniques particular to MUR Theatre. The play will center upon LGBTQ issues, joys and topics. Some shows will also feature post-show discussion panels featuring area LGBTQ community members and leaders. Then we will have auditions to fill roles, rehearse and present the play. You do not have to be a Miami student or employee to join us. We looovvvee community members. Directed and produced by Bekka Eaton.
