THE GAMES AFOOT or HOLMES for THE HOLIDAY by Ken Ludwig

It is December 1936 and Broadway star William Gillette, admired the world over for his leading role in the play Sherlock Holmes, has invited his fellow cast-members to his Connecticut castle for a weekend of revelry. But when one of the guests is stabbed to death, the festivities in this isolated house of tricks and mirrors quickly turn dangerous. Then it’s up to Gillette himself, as he assumes the persona of his beloved Holmes, to track down the killer before the next victim appears. The danger and hilarity are non-stop in this glittering whodunit set during the Christmas holidays

Male needed appears to be in his 40’s – 50’s

The company’s character actor, Felix is histrionic and arch in a Lionel Barrymore kind of way. A true theatrical that has given his life to the stage, Felix is Gillette’s best friend and occasional sidekick. Married to Madge. Actor must have great comic chops and be physically strong.

Tony Award-Winning Broadway Musical PIPPIN Hits Fairfield Stage!

FST_Pippin logoFairfield, OH, July 17, 2017—With its 19th season production, Fairfield Summer
Theatre proudly presents the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, PIPPIN, with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and book by Roger O. Hirson. PIPPIN is presented through special arrangement with Musical Theatre International.

Heir to the Frankish throne, the young prince Pippin is in search of the secret to true happiness and fulfillment. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh and the intrigues of political power (after disposing of his father, King Charlemagne the Great). In the end, though, Pippin finds that happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavors, but rather in the unextraordinary moments that happen every day.

Performances will be held at the Fairfield High School Performing Arts Center (8800 Holden Blvd. Fairfield, OH 45014) July 27-29 at 8pm and July 30 at 2pm. Tickets are available online at http://www.fairfieldsummertheatre.com and by phone at 513-874-SHOW–$18 for adults, $16 for students/seniors and $10 for children 12 and under. Special group pricing ($14/ticket) is available by phone for groups of 10 or more.

PIPPIN is produced by Pat Heinrich and directed by Ryan Heinrich–with choreography by Danielle Brockmann, instrumental direction by Darin Art, scenic design by Ryan Heinrich, lighting design by Eric Cimini, sound by Jeff Thompson, stage management by Brooke Townsend and costumes by Debbie Johnson.

This year’s show has brought together actors from throughout the region. Dayton area actor Mike Embree (Pippin) returns to the FST stage in the title role after his performances as Jesus in JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR and Tateh in RAGTIME. Also returning to the Fairfield stage are theatre veterans and Fairfield High School graduates Sami Shaaban (Leading Player), Chelsey Cavender (Catherine) and Matt Neal (Lewis), as well as Mason High School Theatre director Allen Young (Charlemagne) and area veterinarian Wendy Vogel (Fastrada).
