Laugh Your Way Through THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE

CINCINNATI, OH – February 8, 2017 — Get ready to laugh your way through all 37 of Shakespeare’s comedies, tragedies and histories in one wild ride at Sunset Players’ THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE (ABRIDGED) [REVISED] on stage at the Arts Center at Dunham.

The play, written by Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield and presented through special arrangement with Broadway Play Publishing Inc., is a high-speed roller-coaster type condensation of Shakespeare’s works that will leave you breathless with laughter. This hilarious, fast-paced show is the Reduced Shakespeare Company’s flagship production. Performed for decades all over the world, the players, Alexandria Cumbow, Victoria Covarrubias and Zachary Newman, directed by Mike Burke bring together Shakespeare, satire, sight gags, pop culture references, improv and some audience interaction for great theatre.

Performance dates are February 17, 18, 24, 25, 26, March 2, 3 and 4. All shows are at 8PM, except Thursday at 7:30 PM and Sunday at 3 PM. Cincinnati State’s Interpreter Training Program will provide sign language interpreting for the deaf community on Saturday, February 25.

Tickets are $14 general admission or $12 for seniors, students or groups of 10 or more and can be purchased online at the Sunset Players website (www.sunsetplayers.org) or at the door. Tickets can also be reserved by calling 513-588-4988.

Sunset Players, Inc. is a community theater group located on the west side of Cincinnati. Founded in 1979, the group performs at the Arts Center at Dunham and has produced more than 120 plays. Its mission is to bring a smile, and its plays include comedies, farces, dramatic comedies and musical comedies—as long as there is some “comedy” in the performance somewhere. All the enchanting characters are here from E.B. White’s original book. Determined to save Wilber Charlotte begins her campaign with the “miracle” of her web in which she writes, “Some Pig”. It’s the beginning of the victorious campaign which ultimately ends with the now safe Wilber doing what is most important to Charlotte. This is a beautiful, knowing play about friendship that will delight the whole family.

Four couples have been invivted to the home of Charley and Myra Brock to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. The first couple eters the house to find New York’s depurty mayor has been shot, and his wife has disappeared. Traditional Neil Simon hilarity ensues as they try to figure what transpired in the moments before they arrived, while attempting to keep the situation hidden from the next arriving guests.

Bernard Shaw’s controversial attack on society’s hypocrisy. Young Vivie Warren, emancipated, intelligent and self-sufficient is astounded to learn her mother rose from poverty to riches through prostitution—and also that she is now part owner and operator of a chain of brothels. Mrs. Warren ably justifies her past—attacking a hypocritical society that rewards vice and oppresses virtue. She states poverty and the society that fosters poverty are the real villains and that life in a brothel is preferable to life in a 19th century factory.
