The first annual “Knox Rocks”, a free concert for children, is set for Saturday, September 10, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the front lawn of Knox Presbyterian Church, 3400 Michigan Avenue, in Cincinnati’s Hyde Park neighborhood.

Featured artist at the event is the well-known, Cincinnati-based children’s recording artist Zac Morgan.  The Cincinnati Enquirer says of Morgan, “The beauty of Morgan’s style is that adults are entertained as well, chuckling along to Morgan’s inventive vocabulary. The hokey pokey, or Barney, this is not. It owes more to the storytelling of Shel Silverstein, or Roald Dahl, Morgan’s two main influences.”

In addition to Morgan’s performance, Knox Rocks also will feature free food, games, and other activities for children through grade four.

In the event of inclement weather, the event will move indoors to the Knox Commons.

For more information about Zac Morgan, please see www.zacmorgan.com.

For more information about Knox Rocks, please contact Glenn Williams, Knox Director of Communications, at gwilliams@knox.org or 513.321.2573.

Imagine a town, not unlike your own. Except its smaller. Smaller than that. Imagine our stage. Yeah, about that size! It’s like your town in that there are people going about their every days lives. Worrying about keeping their jobs and their health. Wondering if they will ever find the person they are looking for and asking the big questions. Questions like, “Is there more to life than this?” “What happens when we die?” “What is solipsism?” “Why does my mailman refuse to deliver the correct mail?” In the small town of Damascus, people have problems just like you. They worry about where to get coffee. They can’t decide who to elect. They try not to make eye contact with their Mayor when he sobs inconsolably outside of Town Hall. Yes, problems just like yours are explored and exposed in the professional premiere of Robert Macke’s The Road through Damascus.
