THE SECRET GARDEN is a musical based on the 1911 novel of the same name by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The story is set in the early years of the 20th century. Mary Lennox, a young English girl born and raised in the British Raj, is orphaned by a cholera outbreak when she is eleven years old. She is sent away from India to Yorkshire, England, to live with relatives whom she has never met. Her own personality blossoms as she and a young gardener bring new life to a neglected garden, as well as to her sickly cousin and uncle.

Super Casting Call for 2016 Summer Festival at Cincinnati Opera

co(Supers are non-singing extras or spear carriers – but it is so much more…

When: Monday, April 11 at 6:00 p.m.
Where: Oak Room, The Cincinnati Club, 30 Garfield Place, Cincinnati, OH 45202

Supernumerary or “super” roles are non-singing, non-speaking roles, much like extras in film and television. Supers will share the stage with internationally renowned artists and work with celebrated directors and conductors. Die Fledermaus, Fidelio, and Tosca will be presented in Procter & Gamble Hall at the Aronoff Center for the Arts, with a capacity of about 2,500 people per performance. Supers are required to attend approximately 10-15 rehearsals. Daytime rehearsals may be scheduled. No experience is necessary and all super positions are filled on a voluntary basis.

Attending the casting call does not obligate a person to participate. Interested individuals can attend the casting call simply to learn more about supernumerary opportunities.

Auditions Announced for ALICE IN WONDERLAND and ELF The Musical JR. at The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati

PLEASE NOTE OUR AUDITION PROCESS HAS CHANGED!

This year, we are auditioning in May for our first two MainStage productions of the 16-17 season, followed by auditions in August for our last two productions.

All roles are paid positions.

Upon audition registration, you may indicate which shows you would like to be considered for this season, including our touring productions for TCT On Tour.

Auditions are by appointment only.

Children ages 9-17 and adults 18+ may visit http://tinyurl.com/tctmainstageauditions to make an audition appointment.  Appointments can be made on:

  • Monday, May 16, 2016 between 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM
  • Tuesday, May 17, 2016 between 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM
  • Wednesday, May 18, 2016 between 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM
  • Thursday, May 19, 2016 between 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM

You MAY be asked to return and attend a “movement callback” on the day of your audition, which will take place from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM.  ALICE IN WONDERLAND callbacks will take place on Saturday, May 21, 10 AM – 1:30 PM.

ELF The Musical JR. callbacks will take place on Sunday May 22, 6 PM – 9:30 PM.

Auditions and Callbacks are held at our offices located at:  4015 Red Bank Road, Cincinnati OH 45227.

Please bring a memorized song that best shows your vocal range. (1 minute max). Remember your PIANO SHEET MUSIC for your song as we will NOT be auditioning your a cappella skills.  An accompanist will be provided. Your sheet music MUST have the piano part, not just the vocal line.

You do NOT need to prepare a monologue.

You may be asked to show your dance ability, so come prepared.  Wear appropriate shoes.  No flip flops.

Please bring a RECENT 8×10 headshot and UPDATED performance resume.

Please plan to arrive at least 10-15 minutes ahead of your appointment to check/correct previously submitted paperwork.

If we are ahead of schedule, we will audition you early.

Due to concentrated rehearsal periods, we ask that you do not have conflicts during rehearsals. In an effort to best facilitate all rehearsal times, all those auditioning will be asked to list all conflicts at the time of the audition. This season, all conflicts will result in a stipend adjustment. Please take note of when rehearsals begin, the day and evening tech and performance schedule, and bring your calendar with you to the audition.

About the Show:  This brand new, world-premiere musical takes you down the rabbit hole with the ever-curious Alice, the White Rabbit, Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum, the Mad Hatter, the Caterpillar, the mysterious Cheshire Cat, the Queen of Hearts, and all your favorites from Lewis Carroll’s beloved books, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Zany characters, mad tea parties, flamingo croquet on the lawn, and tap dancing playing cards, all in a land where nothing is as it seems, make Alice in Wonderland a madcap and fun musical adventure for the whole family.

About the Show:  Buddy, a young orphan mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh reality that his father is on the naughty list, and his stepbrother doesn’t even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.
