THE GLASS MENAGERIE
Human Race Theatre Company
Feb. 4-21
Dayton

Directed by Greg Hellems

Cast: Scott Hunt as Tom, Jennifer Joplin as Amanda, Claire Kennedy as Laura & Drew Vidal as Jim

Memories as fragile as glass are tossed into the air in Tennessee Williams’ first great masterpiece. Dreams meet reality and love becomes desperate in a shimmering drama of a family on the edge. Tom struggles in a modern day world while his mother holds tight to a fantasy of Southern gentility and his sister hides amongst the glistening crystalline creatures she collects. With an edge as sharp as broken glass, it’s a story that cuts deep into the longing of human hearts

Top Stories and Traffic Information for 2015

MISC_Happy New Year 2016Happy New Year all!

As you can see below, 2015 was a great year for the Behind the Curtain Cincinnati blog.

What Behind the Curtain does, beyond social media, is serve as a portal into our rich and vibrant performing arts scene. Routinely, Behind the Curtain ranks high in google search results.

To keep the momentum going, I need your help. While social media is a great publicity tool, it certainly does not replace the need for publicists to send out press information.

For example, keep in mind that Facebook only pushes your posts out to about 10% of your fans. Liking and sharing the posts important to you can increase their reach dramatically. The same is true for all posts from Behind the Curtain.

In 2015, I posted 1,428 new entries, bringing total entries up to just over 5,000.

Overall traffic:

Total views for 2015 were 262, 441.
This was a 76% increase over 2014.

Total visitors for 2015 were 113,854.
This was an 85% increase over 2014.

Views per visitor: 2.31

Broadway in Cincinnati and KINKY BOOTS Announce a Boot Drive to Benefit Dress for Success Cincinnati

BIC_Kinky Boots logoTogether with KINKY BOOTS, Broadway in Cincinnati is announcing an opportunity to give local women a step up.  Patrons are encouraged to bring new or gently-used boots, high heels and other professional women’s shoes when they come to see KINKY BOOTS at the Aronoff Center, January 5-17, and those donations go directly to the local non-profit organization Dress for Success Cincinnati. Dress for Success empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Donations are also accepted in advance of the show at the Aronoff Center Box Office.

Inspired by true events, KINKY BOOTS takes you from a gentlemen’s shoe factory in Northampton to the glamorous catwalks of Milan. Charlie Price is struggling to live up to his father’s expectations and continue the family business of Price & Son. With the factory’s future hanging in the balance, help arrives in the unlikely but spectacular form of Lola, a fabulous performer in need of some sturdy new stilettos.

Dress for Success Cincinnati was founded in 1999 to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support, and the career development tools needed to help them thrive in work and life. They provide services and resources to nearly 1,800 women each year who are working to secure a job and achieve self-sufficiency, their ultimate measure of success.

KINKY BOOTS will play the Aronoff Center from January 5 – 17: Tuesday – Thursday at 7:30PM, Friday at 8:00PM, Saturday at 2:00PM and 8:00PM and Sunday at 1:00PM and 6:30PM. Tickets for KINKY BOOTS start at $29. They are available at the Aronoff Center Box Office downtown at 650 Walnut Street, online at CincinnatiArts.org or by phone at 513.621.ARTS. For groups of 10 or more, contact the group sales department at 513.369.4363. Performance schedule, prices and cast are subject to change without notice.
