I LOVE LUCY® LIVE ON STAGE is the brand-new hit stage show adapted from the most beloved program in television history! America’s favorite foursome – Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel – is live on stage and in color for the very first time!

Thea Brooks and Euriamis Losada lead the company as Lucy and Ricky Ricardo, with Kevin Remington and Lori Hammel playing Fred and Ethel Mertz, the Ricardo’s loveable landlords and sidekicks. The cast also includes Sara Jayne Blackmore, Sarah Elizabeth Combs, Gregory Franklin,Jody Madaras, Carlos Martin, Denise Moses, Cindy Sciacca, Kami Seymour, Richard Strimer and Mark Christopher Tracy.

An “out-of-body experience for ‘Lucy’ fans” according to Showbiz Chicago. I LOVE LUCY® LIVE ON STAGE takes audience members back to 1952 as members of the Desilu Playhouse studio audience where they await the filming of two hilarious and oh-so-familiar I LOVE LUCY® episodes, “The Benefit” and “Lucy Has Her Eyes Examined.” A charming host entertains and enlightens the crowd to the behind-the-scenes filming process of a brand new thing called “television,” the Crystaltone Singers perform advertising jingles in perfect 50s style harmony and the sidesplitting antics of America’s favorite foursome – Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel.  It’s a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience TV Guide’s William Keck calls “the most entertaining stage production I’ve seen in years – including Broadway!”

I LOVE LUCY® LIVE ON STAGE is staged and directed by Rick Sparksand adapted for the stage with new material by Kim Flagg and Rick Sparks. The creative team also includes Wayne Moore (music arrangements and special lyrics), Andy Belling (music direction), Peitor Angell (original music), Aaron Henderson (scenic design), Shon LeBlanc & Kelly Bailey(costume design), David George (lighting design), Cricket S. Myers(sound design), Diane Martinous (original hair/wig design), Judi Lewin(hair/wig design), Karina Branson (make-up design) and Allen McMullen(production stage management).

The iconic hit sitcom I LOVE LUCY® originally aired on CBS from 1951 – 1957 for a total of six seasons and 179 episodes and is widely considered to be one of the most popular programs in the history of television. Due in no small part to its relatable characters, sharp comedic writing and Lucille Ball’s signature zany charm, the show continues to endear new audiences with every passing generation. The program was a technical trailblazer, pioneering the multi-camera shooting technique (still employed by the majority of traditional sitcoms to this day) and the use of 35mm film for the capture of a weekly, 30-minute scripted television program (which made possible the re-airing of episodes at a later date, what we now know as “reruns”). In September 2012,  I LOVE LUCY® was named the “Best TV Show Of All Time” and the “Greatest TV Comedy” by People Magazine and ABC’s “20/20” special “Best in TV: The Greatest TV Shows of Our Time.”

I LOVE LUCY® LIVE ON STAGE had its world premiere in Los Angeles at the Greenway Court Theatre from October 2011 – February 2012. A subsequent Chicago production was launched that played two engagements at the Broadway Playhouse, September 2012 – March 2013. The 2013-2014 national tour visited cities including Toronto, Boston, Philadelphia, Nashville and Costa Mesa.

The show is produced by Stephen Kahn (executive producer), David George (executive producer), Allan Williams (executive producer), Jeff Davis (executive producer), Dede Harris, Sharon Karmizan, Hyra George, Kim Flagg, Barbara Alpert, Sophie and Alan Alpert, Neil Hoffman, Nancy Alpert, Teri Alpert and David Carpenter (associate producer), under license from CBS Consumer Products.

Tango Buenos Aires: ” Song of Eva Perón” | Mon., Jan. 26 | Aronoff Center

CAA_Tango Buenos AiresPerforming a journey through dance and music of the life of Eva Perón

Tickets are on sale now at www.CincinnatiArts.org, (513) 621-ARTS [2787], and the Aronoff Center Ticket Office.  Group discount tickets for 10 or more are available by calling (513) 977-4157. Half-Price Student Rush tickets will be available two hours before curtain, with a limit of two tickets per person with a valid student ID at the Aronoff Center Ticket Office only (subject to availability).

Tango Buenos Aires was created for the “Jazmines” festival at the famous Buenos Aires cabaret “Michelangelo” by renowned composer and tango director Osvaldo Requena. The company, with its athletic, sensual dancers and authentic Tango orchestra, met with tremendous success and was immediately added to the season of the General San Martin Municipal Theatre.

The company’s “Song of Eva Perón” is a Tango dance and music presentation inspired by the most important woman in Argentinian history, Eva Perón. Tracing her epic life – from her ascent to fame in the 1930s, to becoming the First Lady of Agentina, to her death in 1952 – this is a sparkling and poignant spectacle that is not to be missed.

“Song of Eva Perón” presents the flowering of a humble and beautiful woman.  Starting from nothing, but propelled by the influence of the Tango, which she first heard while growing up inthe slums of Buenos Aires, Eva attains stardom and blooms to be Argentina‘s First Lady. Her story brought her worldwide acclaim and still resonates with her millions of admirers. The “Song ofEva Perón” is the tale of this mythical figure put into traditional Tango dance and music from Buenos Aires.

The Argentine tango has a mixture of African and Spanish antecedents, and also a strong influence from the Argentine milonga which is sung by Gauchos, the Argentine “cowboys.” In itsbeginnings, the tango was an ill-famed dance, being very fashionable in dance halls and cabarets, and also because the choreography called for the couple to hold each other very close. Tangochoreography allows for a lot of creativity, requiring breaks in the rhythm and perfect coordination between the dancers.

The tango’s constant companion is the piano, although it has been accompanied by the violin, guitar and flute. Currently, the most typical instrument is the bandoneón, which is an accordion.

Featuring a 14-piece orchestra under the musical direction of William White, WEST SIDE STORY will include timeless songs “Somewhere,” “Maria,” and “Something’s Coming,” as Shakespeare’s beloved Romeo & Juliet is transformed to tell the tale of two young, idealistic lovers in modern-day New York City.
