Andrew Rally has it all: celebrity from his starring role in a hit television series; a beautiful girlfriend; a glamorous, devoted agent; the perfect New York apartment; and the chance to play Hamlet in Central Park. Having second thoughts about playing such a challenging role, in front of a live audience no less; the tipsy ghost of John Barrymore returns to his old apartment, urging Andrew to cast off the trappings of the material world and throw his soul into his destiny as an actor, to play Hamlet on the stage.

CINCINNATI, OH – “And now, Mr. DeMille, I’m ready for my close-up.”

Cincinnati Music Theatre (CMT), now celebrating its 50th Anniversary Season, proudly presents SUNSET BOULEVARD, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, and book and lyrics by Don Black and Christopher Hampton. Join us May 10-18, 2013 at the Aronoff Center’s Jarson-Kaplan Theater as we enter the infamous house on Sunset, and meet the “greatest star of all,” Norma Desmond. Her career, fans, and glamour have faded in all but her mind. However, when struggling screenwriter Joes Gillis enters the scene, Norma’s hope for a return to the silver screen are revitalized. He agrees to edit her screenplay, but ends up becoming her kept man. Their subsequent passionate and volatile relationship leads to an unforeseen and tragic conclusion.
