Each show features different styles, formats, and members of the team as we continue to experiment, grow, and adapt as we explore the art of improvisation.

########

OTRimprov is an improvisational comedy troupe that’s makes its home at Know Theatre of Cincinnati as part of Know Theatre’s Jackson Street Market. Recognizing the distinct lack of regularly scheduled improv perfor-mances in Cincinnati, especially Downtown and in Over-the-Rhine, OTRi looks to provide this particular brand of entertainment in order to entertain the masses and further strengthen Cincinnati’s established arts community.

Know Theatre’s Jackson Street Market seeks to provide opportunity to local artistic entrepreneurs, to leverage Know Theatre’s resources on their behalf, and to build upon the strengths of our artistic community by creating a space where they can experiment and play with new ideas. Know Theatre’s mission is to create evocative and explosive live entertainment. We vision a world awakened to its collective possibility. We value a playful artistic community where artists can collaborate and grow. More information about The Jackson Street Market and our current productions can be found at http://www.knowtheatre.com.

CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF
September 6 – 30, 2012
by Tennessee Williams

In a plantation house, a family celebrates the sixty-fifth birthday of Big Daddy, as they sentimentally dub him. The mood is somber, despite the festivities, because a number of evils poison the gaiety: greed, sins of the past and desperate clawing hopes for the future spar with one another as the knowledge that Big Daddy is dying slowly makes the rounds. This is a gripping and intensely moving play, a play that can hold its own. Brilliant scenes of sudden and lashing dramatic power, break open…There is no one moment in the evening when the stinging accuracy of Mr. Williams’ ear for human speech is not compellingly in evidence. Greg Procaccino, Director
