Dayton Movie Auditions

My name is Steve Heman, a Dayton local movie maker who’s casting the lead for my third movie. I was given this e-mail address as a good lead to find actors. Auditions for this role will be during the last week of May. My schedule is wide open and I will schedule a time that works well for the actor. Production is scheduled for the last week of July/first week of August and will take four days (including rehearsals).

“The role is a celebrity writer in his mid to late thirties who is being interviewed by a journalist. He speaks in a low, scratchy voice with resignation. Not a narrative piece, the thematic subject matter deals with journalistic communication verses artistic communication. It’s comparable to “My Dinner with Andre” with a Beckett bent I suppose. It’s an intense and demanding role (including make-up) and requires extensive theater experience. It is a paying gig and I have details upon request including script, production timeline. I’m starting with head shots. I need him to look distinct and a bit ragged like Keith Richards. My schedule is flexible and so I will work around others.’

Anyone who is interested should send all questions and or head shot and resume to evets@email.com

Thank you,
Steve Heman

Inspired by a true story, Nothing is a multi-media play about Ben, a young man with autism who is struggling through the social grind that is high school. He retreats to a world of technology (MP3, video cameras, online gaming) in order to escape his tragic reality of constant bullying. When Ben meets Barbie in a divine online connection, he builds up the courage to venture out of his comfort zone and visit her in the flesh. This overwhelming escapade leads Ben into a dangerous situation, putting his own life at risk.

NOTHING is premiering in the U.S. after finding it’s success in Europe. Video, music, and theatre are presented by one actor through use of rhyme and modern technology. Bullying, autism awareness, and suicide prevention are brought to light through NOTHING, a story at odds with the tragic reality.
