Actor Needed for Mitch in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE at WIT-Women in Theatre

MISC_Casting call2WIT-Women in Theatre has a primary, important role in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE available for a male who can play from early 30s – 40s. The role is for Mitch, the romantic lead against the lead female, Blanche.

A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE goes up on July 15 with additional performances on July 16, 19, 22, 23.  Mitch, primarily, is in 6 of the 11 scenes and a few of them have minor lines. The director is willing to work with conflicts. General rehearsals will begin on May 23. All rehearsals and performances are on The Avenue Stage which is on the
lower level of St. John United Church of Christ, 520 Fairfield Ave., Bellevue, KY.

MISC_Casting call2WIT-Women in Theatre has a small but important role in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE available for a male in his 40’s – 50’s.  The role is for the character of Steve Hubbell who owns the apartment building in which he and his wife, Eunice, (they are a boisterous couple) and Stanley and Stella Kowalski live.

A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE goes up on July 15 with additional performances on July 16, 19, 22, 23.  Rehearsals for this character are minimum and the director is willing to work with conflicts.  General rehearsals will begin on May 23.  All rehearsals and performances are on The Avenue Stage which is on the lower level of St. John United Church of Christ, 520 Fairfield Ave., Bellevue, KY.

Gift Recorder/Development Assistant Needed at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park

Position Overview: The Gift Recorder/Development Assistant manages and processes all donations made to Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park and the related correspondence for those gifts, including acknowledgement letters and invoicing. The Gift Recorder/Development Assistant is a 20 hour per week part-time position which will run four to six months from date of hire. It will have a set weekday schedule to be determined, but a minimum of four days per week is required and five is preferred.

Reports to: Individual Giving/Stewardship Manager

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage the department’s donation process, including:
  • Accurately process all daily gift receipts including contributions and pledges.
  • Prepare deposit batches of gifts for business office.
  • Prepare gift acknowledgments (daily) and pledge invoices (monthly).
  • Maintain accurate documentation of gifts of securities and outstanding pledges.
  • Prepare the playbill donor listings.
  • Prepare department mailings and provide administrative support for Development staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Individual Giving/Stewardship Manager or Associate Development Director.

Competencies:

  • Strong organizational skills including careful attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills including high proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Experience with development software, database programs and/or Tessitura highly desirable.
  • Bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred.
  • Desire to be an integral member of a high-functioning development team.
  • A passion for theatre and/or the arts is highly desirable.
  • Minimum associate’s degree or equivalent experience required.

Physical Demands:

  • The employee is frequently required to stand and walk, and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • This position is partially sedentary, and the employee is required to regularly talk and hear.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check.

New Improv Theatre Company Offers Workshops in Northside

The CI staff have studied, performed, and produced at some of the best improv theatres in America from San Francisco to Chicago to Baltimore. INTRO TO LONG-FORM: This class will focus on our theatrical style of improv — slowing down and becoming more patient and sensitive to your scene partner, finding the truth in your character, and avoiding the need to force a joke at the expense of the scene.

Saturday, April 9th 2-4pm
IMPROV FOR ACTORS: For those actors who want some tips and tricks to have a better improv audition and for those who are seeking skills in interactive theatrical productions. If you’ve taken a basic improv class and are looking for ways to get better at your craft — this workshop is for you.

Saturday, April 23rd 1-2:30
INTRO TO IMPROV: For those who have never taken an improv class and want to learn the basics in a safe and fun environment.

Girls Needed for THE AMISH PROJECT at CenterStage Players

CSPOH_logoCenterStage Players are looking for a few more girls to be in the ensemble for our upcoming production of THE AMISH PROJECT by Jessica Dickey and directed by Karen Vanover.

Stage age of the roles is approximately 9-13.  Show Dates are May 13-15 and 19-21.

“The Amish Project” is a fictional exploration of the Nickel Mines schoolhouse shooting in an Amish community, and the path of forgiveness and compassion forged in its wake.  Please be advised that children in the ensemble would be on stage for the entire show and will be exposed to coarse language and intense subject matter.
