Auditions Announced for MISCAST at Troy Civic Theatre

TROY_logoEver wanted to perform a song from a show but you aren’t exactly who they’re looking to cast? Well then, Troy Civic Theatre is proud to announce auditions for our first ever MISCAST!

This is your chance to perform a piece of musical theatre that you normally wouldn’t be cast for due to age, race, gender, or any other reason.

Director Derek Dunavent is asking you to come audition with up to three songs you wish to have the chance to perform. Please provide you own accompaniment (YouTube is a great source) and prepare a 30 second selection from each song for audition.

Acts will be picked based on response and availability. There will be six rehearsals before the performances on December 17th and 18th.

Solos, Duets, and Groups welcomed!

Nov. 22 & 23 from 7-10pm

Joy eventually tracks down Jack’s family to find closure – but are Alice, Hank, and their daughter Sammy ready to accept Jack’s death?

Set in a small Texas town in anytime, U.S.A., Daddy’s Dyin’ concerns the reunion of a family gathered to await the imminent death of their patriarch, who has recently suffered a physically, as well as mentally, disabling stroke. 9/15/21 Covid-19 Policy: As of July, 2021, the theatre is back open to full seating capacity.  If you are interested in sitting further away from other theatre patrons, please let the box office staff know and every effort possible will be made to accommodate your request. Because the safety of our audiences, cast, and crew are of utmost importance, we are asking that all theatre-goers, cast members, crew, and theatre personnel be vaccinated against Covid-19.  If anyone has not been fully vaccinated for any reason, we are asking that masks be worn while moving about in the theatre building, and that social distance is maintained to the extent possible, Theatre staff are continuing to ensure that all main surfaces are wiped down between performances, and cast will greet the audience outside whenever weather allows. As changes in COVID-19 protocols unfold, the TCT board will be following them, and will adjust plans for tickets, social distancing, and health and safety guidelines accordingly.
