It’s the first day of school and everybody’s in a bum mood. Then, Gooney Bird Greene bursts through the door wearing pajamas and cowboy boots! And she tells the most improbable tales! Like how she arrived from China on a flying carpet or how she got a lovely pair of diamond earrings at the local palace or even how she directed a symphony orchestra! Things are never going to be the same at Watertower Elementary!
Newcomer, Gooney Bird Greene, wears weird outfits to school and tells impossible tales. But her classmates are skeptical. Can her stories really be true? Recommended for Youth in grades 4 & up
