HAMILTON, OH – The Ohio Stage Company begins its 2015-2016 season at the Fitton Center for Creative Arts with Ken Ludwig’s ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. Directed by Skip Badonsky and based on the poem by Clemente Clark Moore, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas is a family-friendly play that will run December 17 – 20, 2015.

“’Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.” But wait! A mouse is stirring – because Santa missed his house last year. Before you can say ‘Merry Christmas!” we’re off on the wild adventures of a mouse, an elf and a spunky little girl who just won’t take ‘no’ for an answer. Don’t miss this joyful tribute to the holiday season from three-time Tony nominee and Olivier Award winning playwright Ken Ludwig.

The show will be presented at 7:00 p.m., December 17-19, and Ohio Stage will run two matinee performances on December 19 and 20 at 2:00 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased through the Fitton Center’s box office by calling 513-863-8873 ext. 110 or online at http://www.fittoncenter.org/special-events.  Tickets are $7 each for children 12 and under.  Adult admission is $12. About the show- On a Friday night in deepest winter, the residents of the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine (so far north it’s almost in Canada) are falling in and out of love in unexpected, unusual, and often hilarious ways. As the northern lights hover magically overhead, knees are getting bruised, and hearts are getting broken. But the bruises heal and hearts mend – almost – in this delightful romantic comedy.

Director Skip Badonsky is casting all roles. Needed are a minimum of two men and two women, but this ensemble play could be cast with as many as 10 men and 9 women. The ages of the characters are variable. Acting experience is not necessary, but role seekers should have a desire to share the experience of and commitment to live theatre and the enjoyment of collaborating with other talented individuals. NOTE: Some scenes will require male/female kissing.

Rehearsals will begin immediately and performances will be given January 21-24, 2016.

For community members interested in behind-the-scenes participation, Ohio Stage encourages you to volunteer. Stop by one of the audition sessions to complete a crew member form.

For more information about the audition, please contact Skip Badonsky at skipbadonsky@gmail.com or visit http://www.ohiostage.org/auditions
