New Improv Group at Drama Workshop

TDW_VERTThe Drama Workshop is starting an Improv group and is seeking members who have an interest in learning and preforming short form Improv. Experienced and those interested in learning are encouraged to attend.

Also, we are trying to have our first performance on June 27th as part of a fundraiser.

Here is the list of rehearsal dates in preparation for June 27th. Rehearsals will be held at TDW’s new space at the Gilmore Playhouse:

  • June 1 3pm
  • June 8 3pm
  • June 15 3pm
  • June 19 7pm (Sat June 22 is West Fest and building will be in use)
  • June 25 7pm our last chance rehearsal before June 27 8pm performance. We can decide on June 19 if we want to keep this date… if we are confident (well relatively speaking), then we can cancel this date.

Come to rehearsals when you can, but if you are planning on joining the performance, we ask that you come to at least 3 rehearsals. We need to feel out the group and start creating some trust with each person’s style.

For our performance, we would like to plan for roughly an hour Everyone’s ideas are welcome. We are trying to build the performance with a mix of improve games and scenes.

The Order of the Little Sisters of Hoboken take over a high school
auditorium to hold a fundraising variety show to raise money to bury several

freezer! Fraught with hilarity, both Catholic and otherwise, we watch as 5 nuns
try to perform their planned performance amidst chaos and calamity.

TDW Seeks Supporters for Kickstarter Campaign

TDW_Jerry FinneganThe Drama Workshop’s production of JERRY FINNEGAN’S SISTER was selected to represent Ohio at this year’s AACT regional festival in Hartford, Wisconsin. We estimate that it’s going to cost $1200 to make the trip next month. ACT Cincinnati has kicked in $300, and OCTA has donated $200 towards this effort. We have a Kickstarter campaign going to help us get the rest of the way.
